Some Great Music From the Teens (so far)!!!!!!!!!!

Just a humble list of some awesome albums from the past 5 years or so. Not definitive or unbiased in the least, just some stuff that has really resonated with me and that you should listen to! Enjoy!!!!!!
1Swans
The Seer

I know that a good number of people prefer 'To Be Kind,' but personally I think that the 'The Seer' is the best album that Swans has released since 2010. It's massive and vicious, but strangely beautiful and spiritual at the same time. 'The Seer' is also incredibly diverse, with towering epics contrasting with contained ballads. Easily the best album of the decade thus far.

Who You Are Is Not Enough

'Who You Are Is Not Enough' is a devastating listen. It's grand and soaring, combining then drama of Emo with the scope of Post-Rock, but still feels immediately personal and heartbreaking. Definitely a downer, but still powerful and moving
3Deafheaven
Sunbather

I know this has become more meme than metal (or even music at this point), but the boys in Deafheaven really pulled through with this one. Combining elements of black metal, shoegaze, and post-rock, 'Sunbather' roars towards massive conclusions and then suddenly lets you rest, only to throttle you with another soaring climax. Well paced and compelling.
4Anberlin
Vital

Heavy, to the point, and intense as hell, Vital is the best straight-up alternative rock record of the decade. 'God, Drugs, and Sex' is also competitor for song of the decade as well. 'Vital' is the sound of Anberlin getting into their zone and kicking ass.
5Kairon IRSE!
Ujubasajuba

Most reviews I've seen of this tend to make the "it's like Sigur Ros and MBV having a baby!!!" analogy right off the bat, but 'Ujubasajuba' rocks in a way that neither of the bands really ever have. It's loose, heavy, and epic all at the same time. Pretty handily the guitar album of the decade
6Weezer
Everything Will Be Alright in the End

Okay, okay, it's a little corny and silly, but I really adore this album. The songs are catchy and the guitar work is fabulous. River's also managed to write some genuinely effecting songs (Cleopatra and Foolish Father are some of his best works ever). Just really great.
7Death Grips
Exmilitary

Imagine getting yelled at by homeless people for 40 minutes. That's pretty much how 'Exmilitary' feels. Not as balanced as 'The Money Store' and not as glitchy as 'Powers that B,' Exmilitary is rap/rock taken to a ridiculous level of madness, which is just where Death Grips thrives.
8White Suns
Totem

I always think of 'Totem' as being a weird hybrid of IDM and feral punk music. It has the same skittering and unsettled rhythms, just focused through a lens of mind numbing noise and havoc. A challenge to sit through, 'Totem' is one of the most unhinged things I've ever heard.
9Kendrick Lamar
good kid, m.A.A.d city

Okay, I know that everyone likes to 'Pimp a Butterfly' WAY better, but GKMC is still undeniably incredible. Pretty much every song here has merit, and the narrative it creates is beautiful and compelling, albiet more straightforward than PaB. Excellent album.
10Gerard Way
Hesitant Alien

I'll be the first to admit that 'Hesitant Alien' is completely front-loaded, but golly, what a load it is (so to speak)! Action Cat, No Shows, and Millions are just catchy as hell, and Juarez is a perfect blast of sing along fuzz pop. Not the best, just really great.
