| Hardcore/Post-Black/melodic Crust Recs
Love the blackened, atmospheric, melodic end of hardcore but there's not really any bands like that... so i find myself downloading a lot of crust and post-black but struggling to find good music that is not a chaotic mess, or otherwise long and drawn-out. Any recs for music like this would be much appreciated. Emphasis on adrenaline and dark, heavy melody. | 1 | | Alpinist Minus.Mensch
The Charme of Dominating is my favorite track in recent memory. | 2 | | No Omega Shame
Not the best, but some solid hardcore. | 3 | | Alcest Kodama
too drawn out, but beautiful melodies. | 4 | | Harakiri for the Sky III: Trauma
Probably the only album with tracks this long that I love anyway. | 5 | | Totem Skin Weltschmerz
Subtract a little chaos, and this band is basically perfect | 6 | | Birds in Row Personal War
album could use some of the variety of YM&V but band is nearly perfect. | 7 | | Manners Pale Blue Light
first raw hardcore album. not easy to beat it. | 8 | | Midnight Souls Going Through the Motions
lyrically a little annoying at times, not always the most versatile, but solid. | 9 | | My Fictions Stranger Songs
overall this band doesn't do it for me. But Airport Song off this one and Torch off I want Nothing definitely do. | 10 | | Trap Them Crown Feral
Overall, band isn't great for me. But Malengines Here, Where They Should be rips. | 11 | | Dead Swans Sleepwalkers
again, just some pretty solid hardcore. | 12 | | Heights Dead Ends
could be better, but has some classic feels. | 13 | | ostraca deathless
too emo, but has some nice builds. | 14 | | The Carrier No Love Can Save Me
best ep. | 15 | | The Effort Wartime Citizens
opener rips. | 16 | | Direwolves Me From Myself, To Banish
Relief's chorus is relief. | 17 | | Carpathian Isolation
good hardcore, never really reaches the heights it sounds like it will, but just very good. | 18 | | Griever Our Love Is Different
The endless wall is brooding as fuck. | 19 | | This Gift Is A Curse All Hail The Swinelord
Way too messy. but XI: For I Am The Fire has 4 minutes, at the beginning and at the end that are pretty epic. Kind've like Behemoth's O father, o satan, o sun. | 20 | | Comeback Kid Symptoms + Cures
first hardcore band. | |

12.12.16 | Idk if you already know about it or not but some of the members of Totem Skin have a side project called "Vardagshat" which recently released its debut ep "Glesbygden Blues" which you might like. | MegaResurrectedJake4
12.12.16 | @Emim, thanks for the recs dude. Black breath is cool, but not raw enough in terms of, they're kind of one of those trying to be the hardest kind of bands as opposed to straight venting heaviness. Nails have never really done it for me. Nesseria has a few cool parts like this gift is a curse, so that was spot on in a way. they don't happen enough tho. Time To Burn has some nice builds - a bit short on vocals tho. | MegaResurrectedJake4
12.12.16 | @AdoreSwancore, ya dude :), checked that out yesterday. Was a bit disappointed to be honest. Kept a lot of the bullshit from Totem skin, kinda took the heart out. I woulda been down to hear that tho had i not checked it out already, thanks mate. | MegaResurrectedJake4
12.12.16 | @Artuma, have checked those out before (Jungbluth for a second time today), but couldn't get into em. thanks tho amigo | zaruyache

12.12.16 | [old] heirophant and the secret are like blackened crust/grind. Might wanna check. | Grimlin
12.13.16 | The Banner's last two full lengths might find you well; dark hardcore with some melody thrown in here and there. The vocals are more hardcore sounding than black metal though, if that matters.

12.14.16 | Oathbreaker, especially their first two albums if you want the more hardcore feeling. Their last LP is also very good but way more post-metalish.
You can also try The Mire. Let me know if it's something you like, got some more recs. |
