Listening session/music marathon records
Good day fellow sputbros/sisters. I want to know how far you have taken this hobby/obsession/drug of music listening. I'm looking for numbers on any of the following categories:
Albums/day, albums/week and/or albums/month.
I'm specially interested in metal listening sessions, since metal music is very intense and it takes way more energy to do a marathon of metal listening than almost any other genre.
My personal records are:
8 metal albums/day (not recommended, indigestion of sound and very tiring)
160 albums/month aprox (I had a job that allowed me to play music so...) (not recommended either, I had to go through a two week music detox cause my mind was about to explode)
albums/year I haven't kept track of a statistic of this sort but I think I have definitely reached the mark of 1000 albums in a year. |
1 | | Miles Davis Bitches Brew
I jammed this once a day during a whole summer month back in 2016. Great memories. One of the best albums of all time. |
2 | | Brodequin Harbinger of Woe
I've been jamming this one almost obsessively since release. I broke my personal mark of playing the same album 4 times in a single day with a 5th spin about a month ago or so. |
3 | | Ahab The Call of the Wretched Sea
It took me 15 attempts to listen to this and being awake during the whole record. Thing is I actually love this record to death, but it has some weird sleeping/narcotic effect on me. It's almost like sorcery. |
4 | | Deathspell Omega Fas - Ite, Maledicti, In Ignem Aeternum
As my avatar may reflect this is my fav album of all time and the album I've spun the most during my lifetime. I lost count some time ago but I'm guessing I've played this over 200 times by now. Since I heard it for the first time in 2014 I have listened to this album at least once a week. |
5 | | Knocked Loose A Tear in the Fabric of Life
This EP is so good I've played it over 60 times since release |
6 | | blink-182 Blink-182
Yeah I used to jam this one a lot in my youngster days. It's fair to assume it was one of the albums I played the most back in the ol days... |
7 | | Patricia Barber Cafe Blue
I'm an audiophile and I've spent more money than I should on music and audiophile equipment. I've been settled for a few years now luckily... Anyway this is the album I used to test new equipment and it's still one of the best sounding albums of all time. The MFSL SACD is prob my fav sounding album of all time. Album rules very hard so does Patricia. I know all the songs by heart just because of those hours-long blind tests and shit... |
8 | | The Doors The Doors
An all time classic that have been played through all my different headphones for ages. |
9 | | Soundtrack (Video Game) Witcher 3 - The Wild Hunt
The last video-game I played in my life (well, it was Disco Elysium tbh). I spent so many hours on this one that I guess the amazing soundtrack should appear here aswell. |
10 | | Motoi Sakuraba Golden Sun
My fav video-game of all time. I spent thousands of hours on it so the soundtrack (a masterpiece) should appear here too. |
11 | | Neurosis Souls at Zero
Used to listen to this album during summertime in my young days while translating the lyrics in an old notebook (I wasn't really fluent in english back then). Spent many hours with my pencil and the printed lyrics lol. Stellar work of art. |
12 | | Rush Hemispheres
What can I say, playing The Trees in Rock Band 2 compulsively was cool but frustrating. Ended up being one of my fav albums of all time. Hail Rush! R.I.P. Neil |
13 | | Enslaved Axioma Ethica Odini
Band is GOD tier, album is one of their best. My love for the album skyrocketed during 2015 and I used to play it a lot on an old Vintage Colorfly C10 DAP while reading the lyrics on the limited edition booklet. |
14 | | Midnight Odyssey Funerals from the Astral Sphere
I heard someone listened to this 12 times in a day... |
