My Concert Experiences
I absolutely love music and it has always been one of the most rimportant things in my life; however, i feel i have cheated myself by rnot attending as many concerts/shows as possible. Most likely this is rdue to the fact i was working full time, going to school full time and rhad a wife and kid by the time i was 21, but i have to say for those i rhave made it to, i enjoyed ever minute. Here is a list of my more rmemorable artist i have had the joy of experiencing live. I only listed rthose concerts/shows that were played a smallers venues, i have seen rothers bands at the large festivals, but find the smaller settings much rmore enjoyable. Also, the album listed is the album the artist was rtouring on at the time i saw them. |
1 | | The Gaslight Anthem The 59 Sound
Amazing live performance. They sound just as good live, if not better. |
2 | | Thrice The Artist in the Ambulance
Probably the best line-up I've seen. Consisted of Thrice, Thursday, and Coheed
and Cambria. Will be seeing them again on November 11th with Moving
Mountains, O'Brother, and La Dispute. |
3 | | Thursday Full Collapse
It was their first night of their first west coast show. They were opening for
Murder City Devils (if I remember correctly) and about three of us were actually
there to see Thursday and sang along. |
4 | | Taking Back Sunday Tell All Your Friends
Was their first west coast tour (second night) and they were opening for the
Lawrence Arms. It was the original line-up. Show was amazing. |
5 | | Coheed and Cambria In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3
See #2 Above. Line-up was amazing. |
6 | | Manchester Orchestra Mean Everything to Nothing
They were touring as an opener for Brand New. Amazing band, Amazing
performance. |
7 | | Frightened Rabbit The Winter of Mixed Drinks
Had missed the opportunity to see them play the Casbah in San Diego (capacity
200 people). Caught them the next go around at the House of Blues Anaheim. |
8 | | Thursday War All the Time
They few times I have seen them, they have always put on a great
performance. Once again, the line-up (see #2 and #5) was amazing!!! |
9 | | Boysetsfire After the Eulogy
Forget if this was the same concert as #3. Nathan Gray is one of the most
passionate singers i have seen. |
10 | | Frank Turner Poetry of the Deed
He opened for Gaslight Anthem. Didn't know much about him before the show,
but he has become one of my favorite artists. |
11 | | Brand New Daisy
One of my all-time favorite bands, unfortunately the only chance I have had to
see them was when they were touring following the release of Daisy, my least
favorite of their albums. |
12 | | Kevin Devine Brother's Blood
Part of his Hotel Residency this past year. Intimate setting, good mix of songs
from across his entire discography. |
13 | | Saves the Day In Reverie
In Reverie is my least favorite Saves the Day album, but they did play a good
portion of Stay What You Are. |
14 | | Taking Back Sunday Where You Want to Be
No comparison to the original line-up, but still enjoyable. |
15 | | Moneen Are We Really Happy with Who We Are Right Now?
Opened for Saves the Day / Taking Back Sunday. Didn't know them that well at
the time, but they caught my attention. |
16 | | Bad Veins Bad Veins
Had never heard of them before I saw them open for Frightened Rabbit. Was
amazed by their performance. The drummer was one of the most energetic
performers i have seen. |
17 | | The Lawrence Arms Apathy and Exhaustion |
18 | | Death By Stereo If Looks Could Kill, I'd Watch You Die |
19 | | The Spill Canvas One Fell Swoop
I was 25 at the time. Took my wife and i think we were the two oldest people
in the crowd. |
20 | | The Beautiful Mistake Light a Match, For I Deserve to Burn
In store record release performance at Sounds Like in Riverside. Technically my
daughters first concert, who was about 6 months old at the time. |
21 | | Murder By Death Red of Tooth and Claw |
22 | | The Builders and the Butchers Salvation Is A Deep Dark Well |
23 | | Dustin Kensrue Please Come Home
Part of the Where's the Band Tour with Chris Conley and Anthony Raneri. This
was my older daughters first true concert experience. I think she had just
turned 8. One of my favorite front men. |
