| SandwichBubble You mean BetterRYM? Even with that, I don't really know RYM's policy for insane track names like this and wouldn't trust it or myself to make the necessary corrections. "L O S T M Y * M O O N B O O T S * jumpin' out from tha * Astral Plane" indeed.
| SandwichBubble Thanks as always! Will check tomorrow. | I'm very glad someone already uploaded that to rym because I don't even know where I would begin with adding that mess of a tracklist.
| SomeCallMeTim remind me, what's the trick to making a list with over 100 entries?
| SandwichBubble Both of these look right up my alley. Thanks! Will check soon.
| ArsMoriendi Checked a few songs, and I could see myself digging this when in the right mood, but I don't think I'm in that mood right now lol
| mryrtmrnfoxxxy thanks for the Honeymoon Killers rec, really fun stuff. i got the one you recd and the next one coming on vinyl
| ArsMoriendi Umbrella thingy due Sunday, final 4 and all that
| mryrtmrnfoxxxy you got Things That Play Themselves 4.5d, sick. great album. someone just told me about Grong Grong recently, have you heard them? earlier band with a couple members from King Snake Roost. cool s***
| tectactoe already yeah that album is pretty dope
| tectactoe Thanks for the rec, will czech soon!
| ArsMoriendi If July was so clearly the best on the album that it hurt
| mryrtmrnfoxxxy yes new wet kojak! really cool vibe. i heard they're playing a couple reunion shows in december. i don't go to shows but there it is. i bet they're fun live
| SandwichBubble Will do, thanks. Those later hard rock albums are probably painful though.

| parksungjoon dv minimal drum and bass, none of the tracks are even remotely close https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/db1/zwischenwelt/
| ArsMoriendi Haha maybe Johnny? I?m a bad choice, I?m prob also a bad choice for groove metal but no one else was gonna do that one lol
| ArsMoriendi Since 3/5 of the remaining new tags (hair metal, viking metal, and instrumental rock) are useless...I went ahead and made the groove metal. But I'm curious, do you plan on doing one for power electronics?
| DadKungFu Strong rec for the new Bobo Stenson Trio if you haven't heard it
| SandwichBubble A one single, one album artist? You spoil me. I'll check it.
| Ryus looks quite interesting, will check
| tectactoe that?s a very very liberal description of it lol
| SlothcoreSam Got one for you. https://jusangatsu.bandcamp.com/album/--7
| SandwichBubble Flying Nun's always worth a check. I've been going through their catalog at a snail's pace though, so this will speed things up. Thanks!
| Pangea Oops link got ****ed https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=202289
| Bedex amazing will definitely peep thanks for letting me know! would never have found it otherwise
| Oceandrowned You still have some good human?s in the UK, Scottish people are the best and finest folks i?ve ever met aboard. At this point there is no need to make any difference between collective west for us, Russians, especially between US/UK. Total lockstep, zero sovereignty, all ruled by bankers/MIC thugs. Total reminiscent of 3rd reich, albeit hidden under lgbt/human rights/green energy shenanigans. Very convenient way too hide your real agenda which is total imperialistic world domination.
| Oceandrowned Don?t worry, if the US will start a direct war against us, i wish you a swift evaporation, instead living such a miserable life of a lock-stepped nuclear burned maggot. Indeed i m ashamed that i was living and studied in US and liked your culture. You are all ****in fake faces in the end, too brainwashed, too entitled, too ignorant to find any meaningful way of communicate with the world besides non ending wars/military domination and financial ponzis you shoved the world up to the ass.
| Oceandrowned Funny s*** is you all talk the same s***, like some sort of s***ty AI, no point wasting time on brainwashed fools, i really hope Putin steps in and nuke the s*** out of this broken place.
| Oceandrowned Your whole ****in imbecile civilization of retarded lgbtq nonsense will deal with that calamity for years to come, i ****in dare you, maggot imperial us fascist.
| Oceandrowned You are delusional at best, brainwashed by mass media to the core and probably vaccinated with an experimental jab. We are different species already, you are more like a fake meet made of maggot sauce, than a real steak. Go to back your pasture, fool. Or better move to trenches in Ukraine, show the whole world what is THE proper support. ****in entitled braindead westerner. You attacked Russia 3 times in past 300 years, and you are still stupid enough to attack us through your proxy puppet Ukr.
| SandwichBubble Looks cool. Will check it and the early stuff later today.
| Oceandrowned Ohh, so another Banderas fan. How unsurprising, considering this site reputation last decade. Seriously, current western society is like clone army made by mass media factory.
| Oceandrowned So whats so weird in my comment? Check whats goin on in US parliament, comical if not so sad.
| JokineAugustus Cheers. Ill give that a listen either today or tomorrow.
| JokineAugustus I hear you are the guy to ask for recs similar to This Heat. Their debut in particular.
| Mort. just checked a couple of tracks from Punishment Room and they were good so they have been saved, cheers
| SandwichBubble Yep, another slam dunk. I'm easy to please. | I was looking through the compilation it was on and the label/collective/whatever. Add another 10 bands to checklist, sigh...
| Viriathus I'd probably say that Phantom Tollbooth at the very least verges on Screamo, if not actually being it. Manages to pre-dates Honeywell and In/Humanity and sounds more interesting than both by that track.
| Zig Thanks. Checked some stuff you have 5d like Roscoe Mitchell?s Sound, which is fantastic.
| Zig hey GL, there's some obscure jazz masterpieces that you could rec me?thanks!
| CottonSalad I haven't! Been meaning to do a Nyman/Greenaway binge at some point...I like a few of the things they've done together. You just bumped it up the list haha
| SandwichBubble You mean hairy amp? I heard they released it, but haven't checked it yet. Will get to it eventually.
| conesmoke "Math-any genreIt's one genre"Well.. it's not... math-rock and math-core? You're telling me those words look the same to you?
| CottonSalad https://anothertimbre.bandcamp.com/album/tempestuous
| CottonSalad That's cool! Since i'll be in the UK for the next 3 years, would love to make my way over there at some point.
| CottonSalad Yo! You live in the UK no? Not sure why I recall that you might...
| CottonSalad glad this exists.glad I don't have to listen to it.
| CottonSalad I knew you would have already lived my dreams
| CottonSalad Yo! Do you have any classic Bossa Nova records you'd recommend? Feeling a BUG
| CottonSalad I haven't resonated as much with his improv collaborations, but those installations are MY VIBE lol
| CottonSalad Have you heard of Max Eastley? His installation documentation from 1973-2008 is blowing my mind the past few days haha
| CottonSalad So, I just pressed play - already nasty lol
| CottonSalad Ghandhi...this Lumina record is WILD. We got Iyer, we got Magma, we got some Lachenmann lolIt's a bop.
| Ryus thats a shame its a good one
| parksungjoon Be more objective and stop rating everything a 5.0 or 4.5, please. Thanks!
| SandwichBubble The last song is pretty good, the rest was middling/bad. Also, the mixing is not great. Not my thing. Thanks for the rec though, always appreciated.
| CottonSalad I vaguely find "jazz" impossible to keep up with and navigate...yet somehow I am all over experimental field recordings and concert music? idk...I'm the problem.
| CottonSalad https://blacktruffle.bandcamp.com/album/becoming-air-into-the-vanishing-point
| tectactoe Oh nice, should?ve known haha. I thought it was super rad.
| tectactoe https://fosterbennett.bandcamp.com/album/contractions-2
| SandwichBubble Sampled a track and it's interesting. I'll check them out, thanks.

| dedex bro ya ever jammed some lil b
| tectactoe ?It?s not you, it?s me.? I seem to have trouble getting into anything RYM classified as ?Deconstructed Club? despite my best efforts to try. Only somewhat recent release with that tag I?ve enjoyed is Kai Whiston?s NO WORLD AS GOOD AS MINE back in 2019. If you have any more eclectic recs in the genre I?d be happy to give them a shot; it?s currently not my forte.
| tectactoe Also thanks for the reminder / I?ve been meaning to rec this to you since I first heard it but kept forgetting. (Was surprised to see you hadn?t already rated it.) https://anwarsadat.bandcamp.com/album/ersatz-living
| tectactoe God bless, listened to the first three tracks and really dig it so far. You?ve got me pegged. Will listen to the full thing proper tonight ??
| CottonSalad Me either! One of the YouTube archives I follow spit it out the other day.
| CottonSalad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBZMQpmJnHY
| CottonSalad Plato haunts the best (and the rest) of us...
| CottonSalad haha, well it's not like they have hundreds of hours of material or anything...
| CottonSalad I know Leila! We haven't talked since 2016 (?) hahah, but she's cool :)
| CottonSalad It's so good. Have you heard before? Was new to me as of yesterday.
| CottonSalad Party:https://muhalrichardabrams.bandcamp.com/album/streaming
| SandwichBubble What was the name of that dream pop band you rec'd me a few days(?) ago? Your shoutbox message is gone.
| CottonSalad Cool! Glad you dig it, haha?still haven?t heard it, been traveling all day (finally landed in the UK for new life) - but I?m definitely gotta check it out tomorrow.
| CottonSalad Have you checked out ?Lopez Trio / Live at Roulette?? Not in the database yet I believe, just came out last week. Haven?t heard yet, but I follow Brandon Lopez in general and figure it?s worth checking.
| CottonSalad Loved Autoschediasms! Really loved what AWS did with Sorey?s cues and general energy - really inspiring. The concert piece for Lewis I was a little less hyped on - a lot of Feldman, a bit of recent Eliane Radigue - may have to listen a few more times, but the space didn?t feel really personally ?heard? in ways that I know Sorey is great at (although I am not the biggest fan of his more notated stuff anyway?). Cheers for these! Will definitely be keeping Auto.. in my rotation for a while!
| SandwichBubble Only thing they linked in the review is the distributor's link: https://midheaven.com/item/st-by-threshing-floor | Might have to shell out 5 bucks if no one cares enough to share it.
| SandwichBubble 15 minute noise jam session sounds both neat and annoying. I'll give it a shot when I can. | Do you know if it's on rym yet?
| VlacDrac I appreciate your lists. Thank you.
| JohnnyoftheWell dunno, need to relisten to empyrean isles a couple of times. it's prettier and more mystical for sure, and has good percussion
| JohnnyoftheWell you don't miss a trick. peep that marilyn mazur album, it's the good stuff
| CottonSalad Unsolicited:https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=197204
| DoofDoof Nice, dude is a musical hero for me
| Havey heard the sampler album, seems a real mixed bag. as a filthy hipster, disc 8's theme speaks to me the most
| MrSirLordGentleman My comments came out really rude dude, that was uncalled for. I apologize for that m8!
| Feather That Nuclear Weapon take is the HOTTEST take I have heard in years. Gunna have to dive into that one.
| ArsMoriendi Deadline is Sunday EST: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1034848
| juiceviaorange "Significant Other is probably better than your favourite metal album" - this comment made my night. $3 Dollar Bill Y'all too. Happy fourth!
| Mythodea I always wonder with your name, do you pronounce it as lion (as the animal) or lion as in ''Marillion''
| fogza Cool, thanks I'll give it a listen soon!
| fogza Your vote for album of the month is really good, thanks for providing interesting left field lists and choices.
| Pheromone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VP85catX1Mg
| LeddSledd "https://puu.sh/HNmov/602b5c574c.jpg" my sides
| SandwichBubble For album titles? Yeah. Open devtools, ctrl f "maxlength," change the value (probably 40) to something higher.
| SandwichBubble Totally missed this, even though I'm subscribed to Don Giovanni. Will get on it asap, thanks!
| ArsMoriendi Well you got me into Robovine and Micachu, so I kinda trust your recs more than ever haha
| DrGonzo1937 fancy doing a short blurb on iosonouncane, ghandhi?
| SandwichBubble I'll get to it, I'll get to it. There's just too much good s*** to listen to and I'm way backed up as it is. I just keep finding new bands to check and the old guard suffers for it.
| SandwichBubble Tommy? Yeah, I added it to the site 5 years ago and never rated it apparently. Will rectify one day.
| ArsMoriendi I checked like 3 other songs by them and I'm thoroughly impressed! Might check an album by them eventually
| ArsMoriendi Maybe. I don't know if I love the vocals, but the music was cool
| Pheromone what is your favourite Click here to add your favorite bands song
| SandwichBubble For now, yeah. Apparently it got popular on RYM during the time I was suspended. | Not sure it'll hold until the end of the year though. Something might come up and usurp it out of nowhere over the summer.
| SandwichBubble Done. | Crystal Silence is going to be moved to the "gary burton and chick corea" page.
| someone cheers, the week after next has no host. i'd strongly suggest your nomination
| someone the gist is that one user take the rec'ing reigns each week and gives eloquent descriptions to two-to-three jazz records they'd like to spotlight, while others listen (pretty basic stuff). trouble is we seem to be running out of participants. now we could just start re-hosting, but we'd also rather new voices came in and gave their takes
| someone Ghandhi, you're our local jazz connoisseur, could you contribute to the Year of Jazz tourney me and muh bois are doing?
| JohnnyoftheWell perfume is fun music s***gaze is study music // acc attempted shape of jazz to come while studying but it was not a success
| SandwichBubble Saw that in my RYM upcoming box. I'll probably still forget to check it day one, but I'll get around to it.
| SandwichBubble Looks interesting! They've got a big discography though, will have to check it in full later. Thanks!
| BaselineOOO gamma account. and no pussy was smashed that day
| DDDeftoneDDD hey! brii is pretty cool! I think they're from Brazil and not from Portugal as it says in the bio.
| someone come on, what's the worst that could happen?
| someone come over for a try-out and try it out, I'm sure you'll like it. if not, you don't have to go back
| someone but this is homelier and we talk mostly about food and fun anecdotes. you don't have to search two dozen channels to find where have you left that one response and ctrl f doesn't throw you off the loop
| someone at least this one's getting refreshed once a month
| someone but you're not scared of Discord?
| someone hey you ever at all in the Casual Convos?
| someone i might be mixing things up here, probably cause a lot of prog uses elements of jazz fusion
| someone yeah i was expecting some run of the mill youtube algorithm jazz fusion, but this is wild. like there's avantgarde and free jazz and some prog too.
| someone you got it off youtube as well?
| Cygnatti yes! I'm have tempted to add like 10 of his singles on the db so I can rate em all.
| SandwichBubble You gotta do what you gotta do. Unfortunately, I can't even do it whilst suspended. Cruel and unusual punishment, I have to say. | Let's just say that it's somewhere in the range of 2 and 9 billion people.
| SandwichBubble Sh!t. I really need to back those up then. | Re:Het You mean Let's Het? Yeah, that album's fantastic. Dunno about less than 1000 people though.
| SandwichBubble My second infraction there, both times for arguing about genres. Apparently even mild banter there is "serious insults." | Unrelated, but do you know any way to export track ratings on RYM?
| SandwichBubble I called the guy that added "sasscore" as a genre stupid. And lame for having a private account. It was in the genre comments for Death From Above's newest album, but I'm sure they've d3leted the exchange by now. | Only a 2 week suspension though, no big deal.
| WeepingBanana I like Trouble In Mind records a lot and saw that he?s played in bands I like, and also saw that he has some releases on Astral Spirits which is another label I?m a fan of. I guess kind of a combo of all those things
| hal1ax unless u were memeing in that soundoff and im an idiot
| hal1ax haha this is a rly cool noise record; not BM at all though.
| hal1ax ooooh this looks cool! thanks my dude will check
| ArsMoriendi https://discord.gg/yBZVeSCn Feel free to lurk, but only after i've asked you the intro question (it's just for role assigning)
| ArsMoriendi Do you use Discord? and if so would you interested in joining the Casual Conversation discord?
| SandwichBubble Looking into it, it seems like "cuddlecore" was used to describe 1 band (Cub) and is now retroactively being fitted to other bands, despite there not being an actual definition. Fair enough, but I'm still just going to call it "twee." | Again, why bother though? There's zero chance anyone there changes their minds. If/when it passes, I'll just kindly eat s*** and move on.
| SandwichBubble If it's more in line with punk rock, why didn't whomever put it under that instead of indie rock? | Honestly, the odds of it not being approved are slim, so I don't know why I'm bothering. If "Lo-fi / Slacker Rock" got approved over there, it's a lost cause.
| SandwichBubble If it's just twee and indie rock, why not just use those together instead of making an entirely new genre? Just seems like it'll only be used by the 10 most popular albums and then never again.
| SandwichBubble Well, they're both the same album, just with a few differences. I didn't really want to just have the 1994 version by itself, cause that's a reissue. I say just leave it as is.
| SandwichBubble Pretty good cover, improvement on the original in my book. Thanks for the link.
| Pheromone 5ive guys - Deep Marsh how gooooood is that
| evilford Yo i hope u didn't take that convo park and I were having in the voivod thread as me saying I dont like u or smth cuz that's definitely not the case. I was just saying that u rate a lot of albums (all metal i think lol) low/lower, which is perfectly fine. Just was saying in that context, a 1.5 from u on a voivod album may indicate that I'd enjoy it lol
| someone and yet it's neither avant-garde nor psychedelic
| someone but for real, do you not hear the crescendoing long-winded noodliness in the t/t there?
| someone silly me not using "as" or "like" in my similes. what would i have done without you, Rate Your Music Database Editor-in-Chief
| SandwichBubble Yep, exactly like that. | If it's bothering you, you could always shorten the "Straight Horn" album name, but it's fine either way.
| SandwichBubble I think "The Straight Horn of Steve Lacy" is pushing them all to the side. There's empty space between both columns, so whenever there's a long album name, it takes up that space. I'd test it, but I don't want to mess it up.
| SandwichBubble Yeah, but it's finnicky. I only got it to work using internet explorer/edge (of all things). | On my first try, I picked a massive picture of a monkey eating lettuce and I couldn't get it to change for a good 20 minutes.
| SandwichBubble I just wanted to see if it'd work is all, promise. Wonder if it's considered a bannable offense.
| WeepingBanana Have you ever check out Susan Alcorn? She?s a pedal steel guitarist and has played with McPhee a bit. I really enjoyed her new album Pedernal
