| JokineAugustus Two bands I highly recommend are Zao and Extol. Zao is metalcore with my personal favorite songs being The Ghost Psalm and Ravage Ritual. Extol however, is death metal with thrash influences and a tad of black. My favorite songs by them are Inferno, Burial, and Emancipation

| YetAnotherBrick Ulcerate's "The Destroyers of All" was probably my favorite metal album of 2011. Also check out Thursday's "No Devolucion" and Glassjaw's "Coloring Book" EP. I know you're not the biggest fan of their other stuff, but Coloring Book is really different. It's nice and concise, too.
| YetAnotherBrick Finally got Slow Riot! And it's ****ing incredible, as expected. I don't know how so many people who are so freaking good at what they do gathered together as a band so...I don't know...perfectly, but I'm sure glad they did. It's a strong 4.5 right now, and it may be a 5 sometime.
| YetAnotherBrick Continued...You should check out Sunny Day Real Estate's "Diary." It's emo, really good emo, but it's a bit more accessible than stuff like CTTS, Envy, Pg. 99, etc.
| YetAnotherBrick Yeah, I know I can do that, but I'd rather buy the album and listen to it that way. I don't like listening to entire albums before I buy them, because I like to be surprised. I try to do it as little as I can. It's just a little...thing about me I guess lol :P And yes, real "emo" is indeed emotional/emotive-hardcore. The stuff like Hawthorne Heights, while possibly having a little emo influence, is either post-hardcore, alternative, or even pop-punk. Stuff along those lines.
| YetAnotherBrick I'm great. Listenin' to tons of music, as usual hahaAs for reccs, hmm...how into emo/screamo are you?And nah man, not yet. I would've bought it with my allowance a while ago, but I've been buying some more expensive stuff lately. :P

| pillowswantyoursoul Sorry for the late reply man. Had some heavy s*** going on. (no pun intended) Going pretty good, had to add alittle more exercises to the arm routine to get my s*** going.
| YetAnotherBrick Haha, you're not the first person to tell me that. And that just makes me all the more excited to get it :)
| Liberi Fatali As for electronic stuff, just based on your description Drum
| Liberi Fatali Or you can go for soundtracks, there?s my namesake song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zfd9krEsr-kThis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfu0XBf8kmkThis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhoGZNBBz98Lord of the Rings soundtracks are pretty good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwIVs_F2kMoProblem is I can point you to a whole bunch of individual songs but usually there will only be a couple songs per soundtrack that are like that.
| Liberi Fatali Hey dude, couldn't find 'Origin of Worlds' so I assume you are referring to their song ?Origin of Species?, can?t even say I?m that familiar with them other than recognising the name from seeing their reviews on here haha! For you I recommend The Black Mages (though they?re not as technical as what you might be looking for) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgmaQCffXYw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3yt_ZbZNuY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaZOGhESWmg
| YetAnotherBrick And they're both growers, too.I've only heard Moya, but I plan on buying it very, very soon. In my opinion, Moya is flawless, so I have pretty high expectations haha
| YetAnotherBrick Yeah, they're pretty interesting, haha. I find the album similar to Relationship of Command in that sense, like, how visceral and emotion-based they both are. On both albums, both the music and the lyrics seem to be executed in the way they are like..on the spot. Both albums are so...real. And they both have tons of good one-liners haha
| YetAnotherBrick Yeah, exactly. That's what sputnik's for, haha. To say one more thing about the album, I just love how crazy it is. The way-out-there vocals combined with all the weird guitar-work, and how emotional and visceral it is. I really dig visceral. I've just never heard an album really similar to it before.
| YetAnotherBrick Sometimes all it needs is to be listened to at the right time, yup. Again, I don't want to seem like I'm pestering you to like it or whatever, I just really, really like it and I...like talking about it, I guess. haha
| YetAnotherBrick Yeah, I can see how someone would think the vocals are overdone. But isn't the music and overall songwriting like, really unique and cool? I love how so many of the riffs are like, built out of these big bursts of dissonance. And of course, the sportscaster thing in "The Gillette Cavalcade of Sports," and that really weird pattern at the end of "Two Tabs of Mescaline." To name a few examples haha
| YetAnotherBrick Cool, man. Get back to me eventually, let me know what the verdict is haha
| YetAnotherBrick Yeah, he's definitely got a unique voice, and to be honest, I was kind of indifferent to it at first, too. But man, did it grow on me. That album's approaching a 5 for me. Obviously I can't like, force you to like it or anything, but you really should give the album some time to grow on you. haha :P
| BallsToTheWall Great story man. I've always wanted to personal train a girl doing romanian deadlifts and then just slip it in. Got back from a forest now back into the gym. That was a lacksidadal 5 days aside from hiking and carrying heavy s***.
| darlingfemmefatal OH! You're right, I haven't been here long at all! I joined about two weeks ago :)That's super exciting to know that Vheissu is so highly ranked- it deserves it for certain! I own their full discography, and I love each and every single one of their albums- each member of that band is so incredibly talented- but the way they work together makes such a rich sound that is totally incomparable to many! Vheissu is definitely my favorite of their albums, but they all rank high on my list!
| darlingfemmefatal Hey... I just saw your old list on Vheissu .. was jazzed cause that's seriously one of my all time favorite albums. For some reason it's the most downplayed of all the Thrice albums :( Pity... I think it's their best.Glad you did a posting on it.
| BallsToTheWall Not quite but looking to step up my routine. problem is, aside from my brother don't know any fitness junkies. Probably gonna switch gyms and get back into ATT. Want to start messing with those huge ropes. Apparently an effective and popular idea.
| BallsToTheWall Goal is to clock in at a lean 165, nearly there, just going to continue what I do. Although getting back into ATT will require me to eateven more.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_xxgsNZKQ8

| Zoo glad you liked them, thanks man, also, my lists are another good place to check out similar stuff, and if you want, you can check out the blog i have with some other users here: http://thecelestialmanifest.blogspot.com/

| jrowa001 thanks man, having a wide range of tastes makes music so much better. i am naturally a metalhead though. just have to have an open mind.

| NeutralThunder12 did you seriously just say that "Still Life" is the best song on Piece of Mind?
