Amorphis Tales from the Thousand Lakes
Amorphis Silent Waters
Amorphis Under the Red Cloud
It should be considered a criminal offence how solid this band is.
Amorphis Queen of Time
I loved their last release, but this is the first newer Amorphis record I've listened to that challenges Tales From a Thousand Lakes in quality, and it easily trumps Silent Waters as their best modern output. Vocals are top notch, instrumentation is beautiful and the songwriting has a few surprises hidden in it. One of the best metal albums of the year, possibly even the best.

Leprous Bilateral
Leprous The Congregation
This album has slowly grown to become one of my favourite Leprous albums, and one of my favourite modern progressive metal albums in general. The songwriting is top-notch, and it perfectly balances the heavier side of their songwriting with the more experimental aspects of the albums that would follow. I think Bilateral still takes the crown in Leprous' discography, but this album now holds a special place in my heart.

I didn't listen to the last album these guys rdid but this was a fairly nice listen all rround. Nowhere near as heavy as Back to Times rof Splendor but still a nicely varied prog rmetal album with a lot of moments that rreminded me of KatatoniarEDIT: Bumping this to a 4, it's definitely the rbest album they've done since their debut and ris a real grower once you really sit down and rlisten to it a few times.

Let's all rate an album a 5 before it's even released.

Edit: Alright so it's definitely not a 5 like the helpful people who rated the album before it was
released thought it was, but it's a solid record. I think at this point people who are expecting
another Discoveries or Singularity shouldn't bother with this, but it's a good example of slightly
proggy metalcore. The album production isn't the best I've heard but it's not bad at all, the
lyrics are pretty good, the vocals are excellent and the drumming is very solid. The guitar work
is simple but effective, even if I feel like they could have done more with it at times. This
probably falls somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4 for me.

The heaviest and darkest celldweller album since the debut, and klayton has clearly taken cues from a lot more metal this time round, likely due to reviving the circle of dust moniker. It's really good though, and the shorter and more streamlined tracklisting on this album compared to his previous outings makes for a more engaging listen that doesn't outstay its welcome.

It really is a huge shame what happened to this band, they could've been one of the most talked about bands in modern prog (Nostalgia already generated a lot of hype about them given how good of an EP it was), but instead the band decided to let internal dramas get in the way of them being honest with their fans. Still, for what it's worth, this is a fine release which shows a lot of strong songwriting and musicianship, and for such a long run-time it doesn't outstay its welcome too much. A fine debut album from a band that we'll likely not hear anything else from after this.

Honestly had no idea these guys were coming out with a new album, or that this was going to be their final release, but it's pretty good stuff. Some of the interludes can drag on in places and the lyrics are a bit eyebrow-raising at times, but this is probably the best P86 has sounded since ...And the Rest Will Follow. Clean vocals are more prominent on this than previous releases, but it's still definitely a Sikth

Not bad after the first few listens, but the album feels a bit short, Orbital should've just
been the intro to Juno and The Arrow is way too brief. The production is amazing
as always, though, and the album version of Smile is miles better than the single version.
EDIT: Holy shit this thing has grown on me a lot over the past few listens, it has a much
better flow than Polaris and the songs are far more dynamic and very easy to get lost in.
Great example of progressive rock here in 2018.

This is Caleb's best vocal performance yet. Not the most original album but filled with a lot of energy.
Beastie Boys To the 5 Boroughs

There are some interesting ideas at work here and a lot of the material from this album is enjoyable, but as an album its wildly inconsistent and lacking a sense of direction. The vocals could also be more interesting, but the overall tone is good.

Pretty enjoyable listen, definitely a big departure from their earlier stuff but they pull it off well other than some outdated electronics that sound like they're lifted right out of 2011, and the second half of the album is a little bit of a clusterfuck, but the material as a whole is pretty good and Nolly's production is of course spectacular.

The band name is absolutely ridiculous but the music isn't bad at all. Vocals are very reminiscent of Hands Like Houses.
Times of Grace Songs of Loss and Separation
Surprised by the lukewarm reception this album's getting here, it's a nice continuation of THOABM's sound by combining the metalcore style Killswitch are known for with elements of other sounds like post-rock.
Tremonti A Dying Machine
Trivium Shogun
Trivium In Waves
Umbra Vitae Shadow of Life
Underoath Voyeurist
Big step up from Erase Me, doesn't reach the heights of their pre-breakup material but it's a solid album nonetheless.
Uneven Structure 8 (Re-release)
Darker and more ominous sounding than Februus, not as much of a grower but still definitely worth listening to for any progressive metal fan.
Uneven Structure La Partition
Uneven Structure Paragon
I'm surprised people think this is that bad, it's not Februus, I'm pretty sure it's established
that they've moved on from that sound but this is definitely a step up from La Partition, an album
that I really fell out of love with after hearing it a few times but this seems like an
improvement overall.

Atreyu Congregation of the Damned
Attack Attack! This Means War
Avantasia Angel of Babylon
Biffy Clyro Opposites
Black Tongue The Unconquerable Dark
Some signs of improvement here. The songs here are starting to actually sound like songs rather than just 3-4 minute breakdowns, but there are too many times where it just isn't interesting enough. Certainly a step in the right direction from their previous work though.
Blessthefall Witness
Blessthefall Awakening
Blessthefall Hollow Bodies
Bring Me the Horizon That's the Spirit
I'm unsure what to think about this. It's not a bad album per se, and the songwriting is pretty
good even if the lyrics still aren't fantastic, but like Fiction says, it's so clean and
inoffensive, and for that I can't give it more than a 3.
Buckcherry Fifteen
Caliban Ghost Empire
It's alright, not their best by any stretch of the imagination. Sounds like they've gone a tad softer than their previous records, but maybe that's just me.
Chelsea Grin Ashes To Ashes
Plenty of 'chuggachugga', but its far better 'chuggachugga' than before. The lyrics are pretty
terrible and the vocals can be a bit obnoxious, but this is the first Chelsea Grin album that's
actually a reasonably enjoyable experience to listen to.

I feel like this album is going to get a lot more hate than it deserves. Sure, it's far from the best in flames album
but it isn't terrible. It is fairly uninteresting a lot of the time but there are some enjoyable aspects. Anders vocals
(particularly his singing) also sound better on this album than they have done on previous in flames albums. It is
definitely a take on a more mainstream sound, but it's still fairly decent as an album. Getting in before the in

What a confusing release. Its like they've
stopped bothering to write interesting riffs
in favour of adding more synths to the mix but
most of those
synths arent that interesting either. There
are some good songs on here but they're way
too few and far between to justify the duds,
or this albums runtime for that matter.

Soen have never been the most inventive band in the world but I've always enjoyed their style of prog metal, but this album is a massive let-down. Man, these guys were never the definitive deathcore band at their best but this is just god-awful.

'deathcore's kings of controversy' (lol) release an album that's almost as bad as Felony.rAlmost.
Fall Out Boy American Beauty/American Psycho
Haven't got my hopes up for this album. I enjoyed a fair amount of Save Rock and Roll and their older material is good, but this just sounds like Patrick Stump with some instruments and synths in the background (I feel sorry for the guitarist).
Fall Out Boy M A N I A
Falling in Reverse Fashionably Late
Five Finger Death Punch And Justice for None
I guess with a new Amorphis album and a new Alkaloid album coming out on May 18, Five Finger Death Punch thought they should balance out the greatness of those bands with an album of pure ass released on the same day.
Five Finger Death Punch AfterLife
Good Charlotte The Young And The Hopeless
Green Day Father of All Motherfuckers
Greta Van Fleet Anthem of the Peaceful Army
Highly Suspect MCID
One of the worst albums I've heard all year, this thing is all over the place and in all the wrong ways.
Hopsin Pound Syndrome
I See Stars The End of the World Party
Iced Earth A Narrative Soundscape
Did Jon Schaffer release this to try and help cover his legal fees or something?
Iggy Azalea The New Classic
Iggy Azalea In My Defense
Imagine Dragons ƎVOLVE
In Flames Battles
Honestly didn't think this band could get worse after siren charms, but they never fail to exceed my expectations.
Incubus (USA-CA) 8
I can't believe the same band that produced such gems as Drive, Pleasure, Pardon Me, New Skin, Vitamin etc have reduced themselves to creating such bland, uninspired, watered down garbage as this. Such a shame to see one of my favourite bands go through such a poor midlife crisis.

Linkin Park One More Light
Definitely the worst Linkin Park album, and possibly one of the worst records I've ever heard.
Lou Reed and Metallica Lulu
Miley Cyrus Breakout
Miley Cyrus Can't Be Tamed
Miley Cyrus Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz
Morbid Angel Illud Divinum Insanus
Nickelback Dark Horse
Nostalgia Critic The Wall
Oasis (What's the Story) Morning Glory?

Psycho Synner Torch The Faith
This album is so bad it makes me appreciate the musical genius of Results May Vary by Limp Bizkit.
Queensryche Dedicated to Chaos
Queensryche Frequency Unknown (Tate's Queensryche)
Rings of Saturn Rings of Saturn
Some of the tackiest music I've heard in a while, an utterly horrendous blend of trap and technical wank-metal. Lucas Mann needs to have a serious reality check if this is what passes as good in his mind.
Saliva Blood Stained Love Story
Saliva In It to Win It (Promo)
painfully generic. I like some material from this band but overall this album has nothing new to offer. And the new vocalist is nothing special. Very disappointing.

Just fucking terrible.
Sonic Syndicate Confessions
Genuinely can't believe this is the same band that recorded Only Inhuman. That may not have been Metal's magnum opus but it was at least a well executed if half-assed Melodic Death Metal album. This is just awful, avoid at all costs.
Suicide Silence Suicide Silence
People saying this album is this band's lowpoint like any of their albums were good.
Thirty Seconds to Mars America
I wish I could rate this lower than 1.
Tom MacDonald Deathreats
Trapt Shadow Work
Releasing the same album 8 times and spewing bad takes on Twitter to trigger the libs.
