Perfect swan song for the trilogy, can't think of what more to wish. It's as if they are leaving us and embarking on a journey
towards the unknown after this. In addition to their previous hooks and melodies and rhythms, now we got plenty of
groove. The mix of different styles is done perfectly, IMO, keeping just enough of their signature sound and avoiding just
ending up mimicking other bands from those genres. They are branching out to more genres but still keeping their core
intact. Hard to put my finger on it what makes their sound unique, but it is identifiable. Chris Ruff (the vocalist) said in an
interview that this album was made just for themselves without any pressure from outside. And it can be heard, they are
enjoying making this music. Perfect chemistry between the members. Similar to, or perhaps an amalgam of Thrice,
Incubus, and The Mayan Factor. |
