The element that sets this album apart from previous releases is the showcasing of Eluveitie's
talented guitar work. The addition of Rafael Salzmann at lead guitar has brought the guitars of
the band, from a rhythmic background, to the forefront on some tracks. There is also more
Gothenburg riffing on this album than previous efforts. Don't worry, the folk melodies remain,
although this is hands-down Eluveitie's most aggressive release yet. In conclusion, I give this
album a slight edge over 'Slania', mostly because of it's more hostile approach. On a side note,
the increased usage of Anna Murphy's screams adds a whole new dimension to the band's vocals. |
