Nothing can rival this massive, flesh-ripping, monolithic masterpiece. Every component of this album is flawless. The riffs are varied, with tons of scalpel-sharp tremolo riffs paired with churning mid-paced riffs that literally sound like ripping someone's arms out of their sockets, the sinews giving way as the bones separate. Nothing out of place, a true work of art, an unmatched pinnacle even 17 years later, and undoubtedly the best album by the genre's most successful band.Encenathrakh EncenathrakhVery interesting. This project is a bizarre supergroup that push the limits of extremity. It features Paulo of cult brutal death metal band Copremesis; Mick Barr, avant-garde guitarist extraordinaire; Colin Marsten of Gorguts, Behold...the Arctopus, Dysrythmia, and many more; and Weasel Walter of who-the-fuck-knows-what band The Flying Luttenbachers on drums. It's seriously some of the most bizarre and inaccessible noise I've ever heard. It's like Portal being violently buttfucked by Orchidectomy while Last Days of Humanity jacks off in a corner, watching. On top and at first listen, it's raw, blasting, guttural brutal death metal. But underneath, if you try to dissect it, it's a swirling chaotic void of angular dissonance and zero actual structure. This is it.
