Their sound really reminds me of the Verve but with a female singer, of course
Apart from this lead single which I feel is fairly incongruous, I really enjoyed listening to this album,
and find it to be more cohesive than their debut. However, "Silk" remains my all time favourite song by

This outfit peaked creatively with Meliora and are now leaning in too far into 70s metal
aesthetic with the lyricism declining in some tracks. Worst of all though is the band trying
to sound like Queen with a vocalist who can't match Freddie Mercury in range. Listen to Def
Leppard or Whitesnake instead |

Far too many songs for me and not very memorable overall, except for "Dead Horses" for the wrong reasons. Alright enough to qualify as background music at best. "Simmer" is the main highlight |

Linkin Park One More Light |
Described by Mike Shinoda and his bandmates as their most personal album dedicated to a recently
deceased friend, One More Light is unfortunately the band's weakest since 2007 album Minutes to
Midnight.
While it isn't a disjointed, hodgepodge mess of a concept album like MTM, it is a major step down
from their best work, shown on A Thousand Sons, The Hunting Party and Hybrid Theory.
When promoting their lead single "Heavy", the band members repeatedly mentioned a greater focus
on lyrics compared to the instrumentation, in that they focused on developing the lyrics and melodies
first. They even brought in a host of singers, songwriters and producers, largely from the pop scene.
The result is this pop record which could be a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth, as for all the
talk about the personal nature of this record, majority of the tracks appear bland and fail to resonate
beyond a vague surface level, except for the stripped down, largely acoustic title track.

Myles Kennedy The Ides of March |
Cool bluesy instrumentals and guitarwork wasted as it is put alongside the most cliched, phoned in lyrics and melodies Myles Kennedy has come up with outside of his work with Slash. Lacks the emotional impact of the 2018 AOTY contender Year of the Tiger. Bring back the storytelling in your third album please |

The title track is the only song on this album worth listening to more than once. Disappointing that the rest of the album cannot live up to the lead single, at all |

Instrumentals and experimentation are perhaps as good as several RATM tracks while Chuck D and rB-Real hold their own as vocalists. However, the lyrics range from decent to utterly god-awful, nearly ras cringeworthy as that Pepsi commercial. Overall, the album sounds very perfunctory, though an roccasionally fun experiencerOverall if you're a longtime RATM fan, it's probably better to just stick to Run the Jewels' tracks with rZack de la Rocha for much better, more nuanced and more interesting lyricism with political themes |
