A few tracks are a bit too on the nose for my liking (looking at Vigil), but aside from that, it's a pretty solid EP. Zeal & Ardor bringing some variety to their style as per usual (At the Seams for instance) while also having some familiar/callback tracks (particularly Tuskegee and Wake of A Nation)

A pretty interesting record. It isn't exactly on the level of the two albums Zeal and Ardor

here.

Drowning Pool Sinner
I think the main issue with this album is that the first 4 tracks are pretty good, Bodies and Sinner being the most memorable for me, while the middle part of this album blends together. It isn't necessarily bad, just kind of forgettable. That being said, I did Mute over the other middle songs. That being said, the only track I actively disliked was Told You So and Sermon was kind of mixed in my eyes.

Honestly, the EP isn't bad when The Used is actually playing songs. The only problem is that the latter 24 minutes of the album seems to just be fluff. So as long as you avoid Tethys and skip The Ocean and the Sky after the song finishes then you should be fine.Other than the fluff, a solid piece of work by The Used

Can't Swim Foreign Language
Generally speaking, I'd say a lot of this band's strength is being slightly heavier with their pop punk, and in this case the practically ditched the pop punk aspect. Granted, it's still there in some areas, such as with Sour & parts of Filthy Rich (although not entirely). As for the sound they decided to go with, it works sometimes, with Filthy Rich being the highlight, but it doesn't work as well in other areas, like with Power (which I expected a lot more out of considering that they snagged Frank Carter) and Prick. rAs for why these particular songs don't work, I'd say a lot of it comes down to the writing (Power being the main example), although sometimes it comes down to the delivery (Shoot! being the one for me). Another issue would be the overall length, which granted, it's punk, so it being short isn't surprising, but considering half the EP isn't really that good for me (and I know this band can and has done better), it leaves me wanting more.rSo overall, if you were to listen to any songs from this, I'd go with Filthy Rich and Sour. Foreign Language isn't bad either and hell, you might even like Shoot! even though I wasn't too big of a fan of it. That being said, skip over Power and Prick.

FEVER 333 Made An America
Must admit, this EP (or LP), while having an alright message, seems like the same thing over and
over lyrically (mainly in relation to cops, ghettos, and oppression). Sure, Jason Butler certainly
sounds nice as per usual, however the instruments are not nearly as interesting as they were while
he was in letlive. (minus a few drum parts I quite like). Of course, it isn't exactly lacking good
songs. Made an America is pretty good sound wise and Soul'd Me Out and Walking In My Shoes are
legitimately good songs (albeit, the latter is quite repetitive). Thus, only a 2 for now.
Hopefully their next project can be a bit better.
