The Like Are You Thinking What I'm Thinking?
When I first heard The Like, they were an opening band for Muse. I knew nothing about their music or who they were. Hearing their name I pictured about 5 gothic/emo guys playing some fast punk music. I was shocked when three girls came on stage. I was shocked at how attractive they were and how well they could play. Their music is on the verge of pop but still rock. It is a soft album and the lyrics are well written. The music is simple with little fancy guitar work. June Gloom opens the album as the closest song they have to rock. All songs sound similar but this is not a bad thing. Waves that never break is a slow sad song that really sticks out. The singers voice sounds frail, throughout the album, giving her a distinct voice that reflects the music. Their music puts me in a calm and relaxed mood. It is a very good song to listen to when going to sleep. Overall a good album, but it sounds too simple and repetitive. Give it a listen, maybe you'll like it.

Meat Loaf Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell
The original Bat Out Of Hell is a great album. It's epic and strong. The songs never seem to get old and are catchy and well written. After several listens, I decided that the sequel couldnt be that bad, so I bought it. On my first listen, the intro got me pumped up. The piano started playing and the guitar kicked in and the drums and I thought I was in for another great album. I started to doubt the album at about 5:40 when the synth choir came in, and by the time of the duet, I was ready for the next song. The rest of the album seemed cheesy and incomplete. It seems that Meat Loaf tried too hard to make the songs catchy and ended up making them mediocre. By the beginning of the first song, I just turned the album off.
So why a 2? Well, I would do anything for love saved this album, and Meat Loaf's Singing is good. The lyrics are pretty well written, even if their cliche. Definetly not as good as the first.
Im discouraged to listen to the III now.
