Kyuss Blues for the Red Sun |
I enjoy listening to stoner rock bands, when I came across Blues for the red sun not only did it make me change my opinion on the genre, it showed me even bands like this who I find enjoyable to listen to can write something simply breathtaking. The brilliance of this album just hooked me staight away, from the start of Thumb to the four second outro to the album. This is an album everytime u listen to it you have to listen to it from start to finish, theirs know songs that you ever feel of skipping, as you feel scared it might ruin the way you go into the next song. In conclusion this album just stands out as a "Classic" |

Mahavishnu Orchestra The Inner Mounting Flame |
One day I was looking about for some new bands to get into and I came across Mahavishnu Orchestra. I had heard good things about them, but was yet to hear them. Later on in the week I made a trip to my local record store and found their first album. I took the risk in buying it, even though not having heard anything by them.
At first I thought two things, number one being "God this is weird" Number two being "They are so good at their instruments it makes me want to disown my own". After a couple of times playing this album i found it very enjoyable, this album just shows that five extraordinary musicians are capable of writing anything.
One thing is for sure "Mahavishnu Orchestra" took music to a new level of intensity, and not forgetting the quaility an instrument can be played. |
Metallica Master of Puppets |
Motley Crue Shout at the Devil |
Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral |
When listening to this album, everytime you can make out the blood, sweat and tears been put into making this definitive "Classic". Trent Reznor has never failed to impress me, he is unique and original and deserves the credit he gets for his compositions and also for creating a whole new genre. |
Ozzy Osbourne Blizzard of Ozz |
Ozzy Osbourne Tribute |
I will never forget the day I heard this album for the first time. My dad sat me down and said listen to this, and from the first song "I Dont Know" I was hooked and still to this day, I still get goosebumps all over listening to this album. From the chilling solos from Mr Crowley to the relaxing out-takes of Dee this truely is a showcase of what Randy Rhoads contributed to the world of music and also makes you think what Randy could have wrote if he was still alive today. |

Stevie Ray Vaughan Texas Flood |
Stevie Ray Vaughan is labeled as a defining essential in the genre of blues. And it is the same with his debut album "Texas Flood". This album opens more opens more Possibilities than Buddy Guy on Steroids and opens an enjoyable and also setting you in a mood, which the (good) blues is known to do to new. This album opened me to a whole range of new blues and helped me respect the genre and for this 5/5. |
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Axis: Bold as Love |
The Mars Volta Frances the Mute |
My first impression listening to this album was "What the hell is this weird crap". In saying this I didn't mean it in a bad way, but at the same time I didn't mean it in a good way. It was like nothing I had ever head like before and was shocked knowing that how could two members go on after the music they made in the past, to out of no where go on to create totally different sence of music.
After further listening the album started to grow on me in a natural sence, as if this music I just started listening to, out of no where seemed normal to me after thinking to is to annoying weird for me with the long interludes and the ever changing song stuctures. This is one album that stands out for everything thats on it, its musicanship, compositions and originally. |
