Linkin Park Minutes to Midnight
Linkin Park has grown up. Nothing more, nothing less... Now I’ve read all the reviews and heard all the comments from various people whose taste I truly respect. This was due to the way I could not make up my own mind on how to think when initially hearing this. The Chester / Mike push for solo projects since Meteora and separate roles on this record (Mike being noted as co-producer) really draws the album apart.
Favourite tracks on this album are The Little Things Give You Away, Hands Held High and Bleed It Out. The first being a perfect alternative, political standpoint against the government set to beautiful soft guitar ballad. The second see's mike back in the rapping chair sounding a bit too much like Fort Minor but with enough energy and force that the military beat brings out the strong political undertones. And the third? Well it’s just Linkin Park at their best, one band together with extreme angst and energy. I'm not even going to try to describe my hateful resentment for the rock-radio friendly hit What I've Done...
