Godspeed You! Black Emperor Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada |
Simply breathtaking. With its two tracks spanning nearly a half an hour, Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada is undeniably not only a staple of Godspeed You! Black Emperor but easily in the entirety of post rock itself. Immensely emotive, this EP demonstrates how capable the band is of turning the slightest passing moment into something grandoise. In what seems like no time at all afterward, Moya entrances, ignites, and burns in preparation for Blaise Baily Finnegan III. The latter track extends this concept in a new light, featuring arguably one of the greatest crescendos in the band's discography. Slow Riot is a defining moment of the genre, one not to be missed. |

The Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream |
The album that almost never was, and that launched the Pumpkins into superstardom, Siamese Dream is a staple of 90's rock. Though many are familiar with the radio success of tracks like "Today" and "Disarm", it offers much, much more. From the aggressive rockers like "Quiet" and "Silverfuck", to churning atmospheric ballads such as "Soma" or "Mayonaise", this record goes above and beyond being a solid release. |
