Underneath the atrociously boring artwork of this album, is a sadly underappreciated black metal gem. To me, the vocalist sounds like he's barking from underwater for someone to drag his drowning body from a murky swamp. The tone of the guitar is thick, I like this because it gives me a break from the usually thin tones of many other black metal bands. The keyboard adds a lot to the atmosphere, for an example of this I suggest you check out the title track on the bands unofficial myspace (www.myspace.com/messiahmisfortune).
This is an awesome album, one of my favorites of the genre, and it shouldn't be missed. |
