| Indeed, plenty of concept albums fall victim to their own pretentiousness. Blindead, however, manage to accurately communicate to the listener the feelings one goes through when taking another person's life. The feelings, the stages and the results are all brilliantly presented. Perhaps what would have made this a classic record would have been with the integration of the more melodic side of the band, as seen in the opening song "Phaze I: Enlightenment". Still, this is an epic record that deserves to be recognized and I will continue to listen to for quite some time. |

Gates of Winter created a truly original progressive metal album which can be easily used as a landmark for any other bands within the genre. The major achievements within this CD come from the aggressive and hard hitting "Burning Kingdom I: A Dark Affliction", to the softer, more melodic "The Wildwood Pariah". Highly recommended for fans of anything progressive or symphonic. |

| It's safe to say that Mudvayne have finally redeemed themselves with this release. After the mediocre "Lost and Found", absolutely awful compilation album "By The People, For The People" and dismal "The New Game," Mudvayne's future was looking pretty fucking bleak. This release, however, is a welcome return to form of sorts and will no doubt please any hardcore fans, as well as the many - and rightfully so - skeptics of the band. Quite the welcome surprise. |
