At the Drive-In Relationship of Command |
Black Sabbath Paranoid |
My first and favorite classic rock album I got. Stoner rock at its best, this album introduced me to more classic acts and albums. It will always have a listen every now and then. My favorite Sabbath album. |
Bob Marley and The Wailers Legend |
Legend delivers Bob Marley's greatist hits of the genre. This disc proves he deserves the respect in the general reggae genre. All of the tracks on this album are fantastic and deserve the respect they recieve. In many eyes, Marley is the greatest reggae/dub artist of all time with legends Peter Tosh and Lee Perry. |
Choking Victim No Gods, No Managers |
Coheed and Cambria The Second Stage Turbine Blade |
Oh man, this album. Brings me back to 8th grade when I picked this up from ebst buy and then went to the local highschool's homecoming game. My friend just had a brutal breakup so rather than listen to him talk about that, I put my headphones in my ear and listened to this masterpiece. In my opinion, this is Coheed and Cambria's masterpiece, my personal favorite. It surpasses Good Apollo with its catchiness and originality. However, they have not released one album that I didn't enjoy. |
Deftones White Pony |
Dispatch Bang Bang |
This album's catchiness is amazing. Dispatch has released an album in which everything is perfect. The blend of many styles pulls this album together to create the best jam rock album I have heard to this date. Everything on this album is mixed well, and nothing is inaudible. If you would like to get into Dispatch, get this masterpiece. The groove of the guitar on this album is incredible, and will get anybody hooked. |
Elliott Smith Elliott Smith |
A few years back, I was getting heavily into metal, but my friends brother had a diverse music collection and had this album in his collection. I put on "Christian Brothers" and right away I'm blown away. This guy can pull off a simple, acoustic sound with high pitched vocals. Such emotion and passion is displayed throughout making this a quality listen. My favorite Elliott Smith album to date, this will always have a place in my heart. |
Iron Maiden Powerslave |
Ah, Iron Maiden. When I was 14-15 I was into these guys like no other. I think I purchased every album but their lives ones, etc. But this one stuck out to me as their masterpiece, right ahead of Piece of Mind. The first track on the album, "Aces High", starts the album off very nicely, and the instrumental on track 3 is entertaining and doesn't slow down the album. "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" is a pure, epic masterpiece. The guitar parts have great melody like most Maiden albums. |
Mobb Deep The Infamous |
Modest Mouse The Moon & Antarctica |
Pearl Jam Ten |
Ah, a few years back when I was just putting that rock in my boom box, I discovered grunge. Oh, that genre was a wonder for me. Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, and of course, Pearl Jam. Listening to this album in the backyard with my older brother opened up what I thought of rock music. |
Peter Tosh Legalize It |
This is THE reggae album in my collection. Sure, I have a number of Marley albums and various other reggae style albums, but this disk has so many classic tracks on it. Anybody that I've talked to has not heard Peter Tosh, and just knew that he was part of The Wailers. I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of easy, laid back music. |
Sublime Sublime |
The Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream |
This album has been with me for nearly my whole life. One of my first grunge bands to get into, the Smashing Pumpkins left me amazed at their catchiness and unusual vocals. This band has helped me with the tough times, and their songwriting and lyrical content never ceased to amaze me. Billy Corgan's obsessive compulsive disorder made him do both guitar and often time bass tracks on his own. He never felt this album was perfect, but he underestimated the talent him and his band had. All 13 tracks demonstrate why this album is a 90's masterpiece. |
Tool Ænima |
This masterpiece was released in 1996, and still leaves me in 'awe' at the musicianship displayed throughout this album. This band is a 4 piece and I was shocked at the way then can perform in different, unusual time signatures. Danny Carey is a great inspiration to me, and after watching many of his videos, he is the backbone of the band and includes many groove patterns with accents thatfills the music. My first progressive band I got into, Tool is one of my favorite bands of all time. |

Alice Cooper Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits |

IMO, this is Alice In Chain's strongest release. While it did get some radio airplay, "Dirt" is strong on all sides and is a classic grunge album. |

Alter Bridge One Day Remains |
American Head Charge The War Of Art |
A friend at work recently showed me this album during my shift, and its industrial influences kept me entertained throughout a few songs on here. One of the best nu-metal/industrial albums in the millenium. |

Ah the album of third grade. One of the happiest days of my life was coming from Walmart with this cassette. The glorys of pop punk for a young boy is fantastic and I thought music could never sound better. Even when I listen to this now, I still get a laugh out of the witty humor and catchy songs that are put into this. This album just brings back a lot of good memories. I think "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" is a tad better because of the songwriting, etc. But this album remains a favorite. |
