i love this album. this is the bands first album and it is one of their best. i do not know why people do not like 'demons', but that is one of my favourite songs of all time. 'jennifer lost the war', 'beheaded', 'tehran', 'elders', 'blackball', and 'crossroads' are awesome tracks. i wish the offspring could release albums like this. the greatest strength of this album is the fact that it is pure punk. i wish their newer stuff sounded like this...

a very perfect album(besides 'the decline' thing) by a very consistent band. this is their second live album and does not contain some tracks that you would hear at a normal nofx concert. they play a few raraties like fast/ non aucoustic versions of 'scavenger type', my fav track 'youre wrong', and many others worth checking out. many people know that nofx are a very solid live band, and as it shows here, they are definetly not wrong. this is a must have for all nofx fans, and if you havent heard them before, this would be a fairly decent first impression on the band (even though i would recommend 'punk in drublic' before this).

lots of people will disagree with my opinion, but i dont really mind. this is my second favourite SOAD album. the reason why i gave this a 4.5 is because it is completely solid. i could listen to this whole album without skipping a single track (exept maybe 'soldier side', the intro). when i first got this a few years ago, i would listen to it at least 2 times per day completely. that is how solid this is. 'B.Y.O.B.', 'radio/ video', and 'question', and 'old school hollywood' are some of my favourite songs. 'lost in hollywood' is an awesome ballad and 'sad statue' has powerful chouruses. a must-have for any SOAD fan, and overall an excellent offering.

Slipknot 9.0: Live
slipknots first live album should not dissapiont any slipknot fans. ill do this sound off differently to a normal(not normal= live, compilation, greatest hits) sound off.
the good things:
they play very solidly. they play all of their classic songs with ease. they picked their best songs and it shows. you can listen to both discs the whole way through without skipping any tracks. that is rare for any slipknot album because there is always a few shit tracks, so to have this, its just brilliant.
i bet from all of that youre wondering why i didnt give it a 5, but this is the part which i wish didnt have to be here, but..........
the bad things:
the performances werent always perfect, especially the ones from s/t and iowa. why? i assume you will ask, well, the songs are 8/9 perfect. that 1/9 is in fact the bands frontman, corey tayler. i have heard rumors that from the mask he wore for the subliminal verses tour(when this was recorded) that his mask prevented him from sceaming properly. whether that rumor is true or not, i stand by my opinion that corey had a terrible screaming voice for this album. he was really off-putting, you couldnt pay attention to the other instruments or the actual song. there wasnt as much screaming on the subliminal verses than the other albums so that was okay
summary:
despite the singing this is a great album which if you are a slipknot fan then you should definetly check out.
Slipknot Disasterpieces
System of a Down Steal This Album!
The Offspring Greatest Hits
an ok compilation from one of the leading pop punk bands of the nineties.
what was good:
they included 'all i want', 'come out and play', 'self esteem', 'cant get my head around you', 'kids arent alright' and rare b-side 'cant repeat'.
what was bad:
the discluding of any tracks of the first two albums. i guess it sort of says it in the title but, it would be much better if it was more of a 'greatest songs' compilation, hand picked songs from the actual band, not the singles chart and/or their (major) record label.
summery:
dont start with this if you are just getting into the band. instead just get a full release, so you can see the good un- mainstream songs. if you really want to avoid the mainstream, go to their first two albums.
i have no problems with the songs whatsoever, i just think they could have picked more wisely.
the main reason why i didnt give this album a higher rating is because there is no fast songs exept for 'all i want'.
