5.0 classic
D.R.I. Crossover
The defining crossover thrash album, literally. It's punk enough for punks and thrash enough for thrashers.
Death Angel The Ultra-Violence
It's hard to believe that an album this awesome was made by a bunch of fucking kids. I mean, the drummer was 15. Is that not badass? This album is everything that thrash is about. Speed, agression, but it's got plenty of melody too, and the guitarwork is excellent.
Exodus Fabulous Disaster
While many disagree, I think this is the best thing Exodus ever did. While every other thrash band at the time was trying to be political and shit, Exodus were still singing about moshing and headbanging. Steve Souza is an amazing vocalist, and Gary Holt is definitely in the top five thrash guitarists ever.
Hinder Welcome to the Freakshow
Kate Bush Hounds of Love
Motorhead Ace of Spades
Ace of Spades isn't just a classic heavy metal album, it's just a great rock n' roll album. There's a few albums that truly capture the spirit of rock n' roll, the sleaziness, the dirtiness, the raw power that is rock n' roll, and Ace of Spades is one of those albums. This is just great shit for everyone. Thrashers, punks, any rock n' roll fan should get something from this.
Rush Clockwork Angels

4.5 superb
AC/DC Highway To Hell
Atheist Piece of Time
Celtic Frost To Mega Therion
D.R.I. 4 of a Kind
D.R.I. Dirty Rotten
D.R.I. Dealing with It!
Deep Purple Machine Head
Deep Purple Made in Japan
Take a bunch of three and four minute songs, and make them, like, ten minutes longer with more guitar wankery. Sounds like a bad idea, but it fucking worked for Deep Purple. While the long, indulgent solos prove that Richie Blackmore is a self-centered prick, it makes some great rock music.
Diamond Head Lightning to the Nations
One of the best metal albums ever made, Lightning to the Nations was an influence on everyone at the time. Just listen to Metallica's Kill 'Em All and you can hear Diamond Head influence in every song.
Exodus Bonded by Blood
Heaven and Hell Live From Radio City Music Hall
Motorhead Inferno
Motorhead Overkill
Motorhead Iron Fist
Motorhead Another Perfect Day
Motorhead Rock 'N' Roll
Motorhead No Sleep 'til Hammersmith
Motorhead Better Motörhead Than Dead: Live At Hammersmith
Motorhead Motorizer
Rainbow Rising
Rainbow Long Live Rock 'n' Roll
Testament The New Order
Venom Black Metal
I bought this album a little after it was released simply for its album cover. It was just too evil too pass up. The music blew my mind. I felt weird listening to something that sounded so evil.
Venom Welcome to Hell
Listening to awesome albums like Welcome To Hell kinda makes me sad, knowing that Venom will never put out an album this good again, ever.

4.0 excellent
AC/DC If You Want Blood You've Got It
Anvil Forged in Fire
Atheist Elements
Atheist Unquestionable Presence
Celtic Frost Morbid Tales
D.R.I. Thrash Zone
Death Angel Act III
Death Angel Frolic Through the Park
Deep Purple Deep Purple In Rock
Deep Purple Fireball
Exodus Another Lesson in Violence
Exodus Tempo of the Damned
Exodus Pleasures of the Flesh
Heaven and Hell The Devil You Know
Ronnie is about one-hundred years old, and he can still fucking rock. It's hard to imagine a bunch of old guys like this sitting around playing music this heavy. Tony Iommi is like, 63, right? In my town, a man in his sixties doesn't even listen to music anymore.
Motorhead 1916
Motorhead Bastards
Motorhead Bomber
Motorhead No Sleep at All
Motorhead March Or Die
Motorhead Kiss of Death
Rainbow Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow
Man on the Silver Mountain has one of the best riffs ever conceived by Ritchie Blackmore.
Rainbow On Stage
Saxon Wheels of Steel
Saxon Denim and Leather
Saxon had a ton of great albums, but in my opinion, they never released a true classic like other bands at the time like Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. This, Denim and Leather, is my favorite Saxon album, and it rocks.
Saxon The Eagle Has Landed
Saxon Strong Arm of the Law
Testament Practice What You Preach
Testament The Legacy
Venom At War with Satan

3.5 great
AC/DC Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
AC/DC Back In Black
AC/DC Let There Be Rock
AC/DC High Voltage
Anvil Metal on Metal
Anvil sounded so fucking evil back in the day. I thought that they were the Satan-worshipping sex fiend warrior perverts of metal. But nowadays, this is decent at best. However, LIVE, they still got it.
D.R.I. Live
Death Angel Kill as One
Death Angel The Art of Dying
Death Angel Killing Season
Diamond Head Borrowed Time
Exodus Shovel Headed Kill Machine
Exodus The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A
Motorhead Motörhead
Motorhead On Parole
Saxon Crusader
Saxon Saxon
Saxon Power and the Glory
Saxon The Inner Sanctum
Saxon Into the Labyrinth
Testament The Gathering
Testament Souls of Black
Testament Return to the Apocalyptic City
Testament The Formation of Damnation
At least they're playing pure thrash again. Their best album since Souls of Black.

3.0 good
AC/DC Powerage
Anvil Hard 'n' Heavy
Anvil This Is Thirteen
Celtic Frost Into the Pandemonium
D.R.I. Definition
D.R.I. Full Speed Ahead
Deep Purple Perfect Strangers
Decent album, but really, if you've heard In Rock, Fireball, Machine Head, and Made In Japan, there's no real point in even listening to this. After a certain point, it seems like Deep Purple just became useless.
Deep Purple Who Do We Think We Are
Def Leppard On Through the Night
Diamond Head Canterbury
Exodus Let There Be Blood
Motorhead Orgasmatron
Motorhead We Are Motorhead
Motorhead Hammered
Testament The Ritual
Testament Low

2.5 average
AC/DC For Those About To Rock We Salute You
Celtic Frost Monotheist
Deep Purple Burn
Deep Purple Stormbringer
Def Leppard High 'N' Dry
Exodus Impact Is Imminent
Motorhead Snake Bite Love
Motorhead Sacrifice
Rainbow Down To Earth
After releasing some amazing rock n' roll albums, Ronnie James Dio left Rainbow and they never were the same.
Saxon Rock the Nations

2.0 poor
Badlands Badlands
I figured since the band was made up of Sabbath members and former Ozzy axeman, Jake E. Lee, this would be good. But instead, this album is just another hair band's attempt at becoming the next Led Zeppelin.
Def Leppard Pyromania
Def Leppard's first two records sound pretty lame and dated now, but back in the day, it was badass. Def Leppard were apart of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal for a reason. But then they released this over-polished, pop metal album, and I haven't bought a Def Leppard record since.
Saxon Innocence is No Excuse
Testament Demonic
Venom Possessed
Venom Metal Black
Venom Hell
Venom Calm Before the Storm

1.5 very poor
AC/DC Black Ice
Black Ice fucking sucks, but at this point in their career, we all expected it to suck. I still payed cash to see them on this tour, and they still put on a good show, but I didn't even buy a shirt at the show.
Celtic Frost Cold Lake
A sad attempt to achieve mainstream popularity. But think about it, how could a band named CELTIC FROST ever become popular anyway? Unless they changed their name to Celtic Snake or Celtic Lion, or Frost Snake, they'd never be popular.
Whitesnake Whitesnake
I was so stupid in 1987. I heard that this was actually a good album. But it fucking wasn't! Just more hair rock bullshit trying to sound like Led Zeppelin.

1.0 awful
Metro Zu HashPipe Jazz
Whitesnake Slide It In
In 1984, I hadn't yet moved on to much extreme metal. I had a few Venom records, and I owned Kill 'em All and Show No Mercy. But I still loved the lighter bands like Iron Maiden and Ozzy and Dio. I read about a "metal" band called Whitesnake in a magazine and read that they had a good blues rock thing going (like Led Zeppelin, a band that I was just starting to love at the time). So I picked this up. And I fucking hated it.
