This DVD is super thorough and it covers their days from when the first started up till City of Evil. The content flows nicely, there's lots of humor, and lots of insight on how the band became famous. It's really well done and I have watched it multiple times.

Excellent example of a band that won't compromise their sound to appease the radio. Chevelle has stuck to their roots and created their greatest album since Vena Sera.

Honestly, I was expecting a little more from this band as I have really enjoyed the first two albums. However, this album is half instrumental and not very interesting instrumentals at that. "Extraneous" is probably the most enjoyable non vocal track. The other half are pretty decent, "Burn the Ground" and "The Summer Jam" are pretty catchy and the vocals are actually well done. But I don't know, I expected a 7 song ep to not have 3 instrumental tracks.

Really strong first half, but hit a bit of a wall after track 4, with the exception of Culture War. In my opinion, they did a little too much experimentation here. If they had kept things consistent with tracks 1-4, it would've potentially surpassed Silent Machine. Bummer.
Young the Giant Young the Giant

After the Burial Wolves Within
Alice in Chains Rainier Fog
Alter Bridge Pawns and Kings
Solid album, and you can tell that the band is trying to evolve. I love the mix and the instrumentation on the album a lot. I actually think it's their best mixed album to date. The cheesy lyrics throughout the album drag it down for me though.
Avenged Sevenfold Sounding the Seventh Trumpet
Avenged Sevenfold The Stage
Very inspired album. They seem to have found their creative energy again.
Breaking Benjamin Ember
Bulb Moderately Fast, Adequately Furious
Chevelle Hats Off To The Bull
Chris Stapleton From A Room: Volume 2
Danny Worsnop Shades Of Blue
This album is a nice bluesy rock that reminds me of Chris Stapleton in many areas. He shows his vocals off well in Best Bad Habit and Ain't Feeling Sorry with lots of grit, and shows a softer side in Tomorrow. Would definitely recommend checking it out if it sounds like your type of music.

It's LoG doing LoG. Nothing super standout here, but nothing bad either. September song has a really interesting intro and I was really hoping they would take it in a cool place and it ended being just another typical track. I dunno, at this point I think I'm just over how safe they always play it.
Mammoth WVH Mammoth WVH
Pretty good debut, especially since he did 100% of the instrumentation and songwriting/vocals in the album. He's not breaking any walls here but I don't think he means to.

Listened to it in full. Better than the last album, some good instrumental work, but holy ballz the vocalist is so bland!
Alice in Chains Alice in Chains
Alice in Chains The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here
Alter Bridge The Last Hero
Alter Bridge Walk The Sky
Where's the review on this?? The album has some great instrumental moments but it's lacking in memorable melody that the first 4 albums nailed so well. There were a lot of great areas where Myles vocal paths just felt off. Would put it slightly ahead of The Last Hero, but not by much. Their first 4 records are better.
Avenged Sevenfold Live At The Grammy Museum
The track list is really weak. Shadows sounds better than on the stage, but they could have gone with way better songs
Chris Stapleton Starting Over
Chris Stapleton Higher
Deftones Gore
Dream Theater The Astonishing

These guys are clearly talented musicians, but the album doesn't feel very inspired. It's basically a thrashier less interesting version of a periphery instrumental album.

Tool played it incredibly safe this time around. Instrumentation was very predictable and Maynard didn't have one memorable vocal moment. If they plan on making another record after this they need to step it up a hell of a lot from this one
