Glass Beach The First Glass Beach Album
A continuation of the brave little abacus aesthetic. Whether you like or or not, the band went for
it and doesn't give a fuck.

Edit (03/12/20): I listened to this album while recovering from a major surgery. I can no longer
listen to Dallas without thinking about waking up in the middle of the night alone and in pain,
and calling a nurse to administer morphine so I can go back to sleep. Or looking in the mirror at
my giant scar, tracing down along the staples, and thinking that no one will ever find me
attractive again. They say the most important albums are the ones that get you through your life's
worst lows. In this case I have to agree. This album is very important to me, and I hope it helps
out some of you guys too. Bumping to classic tier.

Whenever I feel like life is too complex and hectic and I'm in over my head, whenever anxiety hits and static fills my thoughts to where I start to become irrational and incomprehensible, this album is there for me to wash it all away and bring me back down to earth. Effortless beauty.

One of the most bitter albums I've heard. Practically dripping with resentment and anger, but with a touch of grace that makes it especially chilling. Highlights are the title track and Your Friends Are Gone.
Coldplay Parachutes
Coldplay Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends
Company Of Thieves Running From A Gamble
This is absolutely superb indie rock right here. Not only are the songs original and interesting, but they pack a punch not many bands of this genre can pull off, not to mention the singer is absolutely phenomenal. This is probably one of the best finds I've had in recent memory.

I got this on cd from one of the band members on Discogs. The "case" is handmade out of cardboard with the cover art printed on it and it's tied together with blue yarn. That's how you know a band's legit.

This album could have been so much better if he cut out the lame abrasive parts that go nowhere, but I think Daydreamers is enough to justify that this is an excellent album nonetheless.
Dawn of Midi Dysnomia
Whenever I listen to this album I listen to this album, I visualize myself in a dark and endless hallway, and no matter how far I walk, how fast I run, or how much I panic, the hallway will forever stay infinite and constant.

3.5 great
A Lot Like Birds Conversation Piece
Alvin Band Rainbow Road
wow this band makes better music than animal collective but they sound like them so they must be clones!!!!!!!
Animal Collective Merriweather Post Pavilion
their best album, but still pretty fucking average. it gets a bump cause daily routine is
awesome.
Arts The Beatdoctor Transitions
Ben Howard Every Kingdom
Simultaneously one of the most generic, unoriginal, and emotionally manufactured albums ever and overwhelmingly beautiful, mature, and well written. A very confusing listen to say the least.
Boards of Canada Tomorrow's Harvest

Dance Gavin Dance Instant Gratification
Fantano rates this album a 1 and it drops 0.2 points overnight. Lol. Some people aren't very confident with their scores it seems.
Dance Gavin Dance Mothership
Some great tracks. Catchy with great melodies, but none of the lyrics get my attention. First half is better than the second. The tracks start to run together and sound the same near the end.
Death Grips No Love Deep Web
Deftones Koi No Yokan
El-P Cancer 4 Cure
Elbow The Seldom Seen Kid
Fleet Foxes Fleet Foxes
Haken The Mountain
I think Atlas Stone and Cockroach King do a great job at illustrating how exhilarating and powerful this album can be at points and how lame and cheesy it can be at others.
Honorary Astronaut EP001
It's cool to not like pieces of music but maybe don't ragepost a 0.5 because of one song without realizing you're rating an album. Pretty lame behavior from an emeritus.
In Pieces Lions Write History
Incubus (USA-CA) Make Yourself
Jonti Twirligig
Kacey Musgraves Golden Hour
Kettel and Secede When Can
Listener Wooden Heart
Lo Moon Lo Moon
This is nice but really pales under the expectations set by Loveless. Whether you're listening from the perspective of the single being released in 2016 or just listening from the perspective of Loveless being the second track on the album, nothing else on the album even comes close and it's a little disappointing. I dig the aesthetic here but it all feels just a bit shallow.

The Mars Volta De-Loused in the Comatorium

Tool Lateralus
Many people will tell you that Lateralus is a classic album, but in actuality it's just kind of alright.
Trophy Scars Holy Vacants
I may be a big baby but it really grinds my gears that this is rated higher than Bad Luck on this site.
TTNG This Town Needs Guns
Vein.fm Errorzone
The album cover and lyrics are dumb and edgy but the music itself goes so hard I don't care.

3.0 good
Animal Collective Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished
Animal Collective Strawberry Jam
Animal Collective Centipede Hz
On repeated listens most of this has worn off quite a lot. Wide Eyed, Mercury Man, and
Monkey Riches are pretty good, but other than that there's really nothing very interesting
in this album. Just like every AnCo release before it.
Circa Survive Violent Waves
Hanson thinks this band sounds like The Mars Volta.
Coldplay Mylo Xyloto
Seriously don't get why you guys hate Princess of China so much.
Death Grips Government Plates
eh there are cool parts I guess but it falls flat mostly compared with their other stuff
Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory
Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP
Esoteric Epistemological Despondency
Foxing Nearer My God
some of this rules but a lot of it is really annoying
Glassjaw Material Control
I'm trying to like this but I'm legitimately confused about how this even comes close to rivaling their other work.
God Is an Astronaut All Is Violent, All Is Bright
Linkin Park The Hunting Party
only a few cringe moments 5/5
Motor Ace Animal
Panic! at the Disco A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
Person L Initial
Absolutely beautiful musicianship in songs such as Canyonlands and Storms are lost in a mess of inconsistency in this terribly incohesive record.
Phaeleh Within The Emptiness
Radiohead The King of Limbs
Sufjan Stevens The Age of Adz
The Beatles Abbey Road
The Flashbulb Soundtrack to a Vacant Life

How to get a high rated soundoff on sputnik: make a well thought out and in depth (but
brief) overview of an album, or make a short, half-assed, contrarian remark about how much a
well-received album blows. Example: http://i.imgur.com/PxXS2.png

2.5 average
Alexisonfire Old Crows / Young Cardinals
Animal Collective Feels
Animal Collective Water Curses
Arcade Fire Reflektor
Yet another average album that tries to sound super vintage but forgets to actually make the
songs entertaining and engaging to listen to. These people saying that other people
don't like this because it's "fashionable" to hate on Arcade Fire need a reality check. All
their albums before this are a 3.8 or above here and Funeral has a 4.3 for fuck's sake.

Daft Punk Random Access Memories
Foxygen We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors...
Linkin Park A Thousand Suns

I just don't understand. The title track sounds so stupid and the rest of the album isn't much better. I only really liked the first three songs.
of Montreal Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?
Titus Andronicus The Most Lamentable Tragedy
the worst part about this album is that they expect you to listen to it for an hour and forty minutes

2.0 poor
A Perfect Circle eMOTIVe
Copeland Beneath Medicine Tree
Design the Skyline Nevaeh
You guys need to listen to Reverie and Nevaeh. They're actually pretty decent. If this band were to completely drop their "vocalists" and create purely instrumental music I think they have a shot at being acceptable.
Eluvium Copia
Kanye West Yeezus
Mogwai Come On Die Young
Rise Against Appeal to Reason
Stereolab Emperor Tomato Ketchup
Outside of Cybele's Reverie, this is the most frustrating waste of time I've listened to in a while.

1.5 very poor
Circle Takes the Square As the Roots Undo
I didn't like this album musically at first, but it was passable thanks to a few sections such as the beginning of Non-Objective Portrait of Karma. But then I listened to the lyrics and realized how unbelievably pseudo-intellectual this was and I completely lost all respect for it.
