It's amazing to see how this band manages to release quality album after quality album. Compared to its predecessor, NLTL is even more streamlined and tighter in songwriting, incorporating more metal and technical elements while also inlcuding more clean vocals an anthemic hooks than ever before. The closer will definitely surprise a lot of people with its calm and emotional approach.

A lot more straight than ATD and more in the vein of TPOE, which is a step in the right direction I think.rAnd thank god the squeeling is back.rEveryone interested in deathcore should check this out.rA Pure Evil really is heavy as fuck.

Very surprised this record turned out this good.
They finally made an enjoyable album that has a constant flow,is more aggressive than their other releases and has some great instrumentations. The shouted vocals are also excelent.
The Clean vocals are too overproduced in my opinion but executed well and better integrated in the songs than on previous albums.
Another thing to mention is that their aren´t these cheesy semi-ballads and refrains.Everything is in a constant flow and not letting up untill the final really enjoyable song sumarizes the whole album.Well done As I Lay Dying you finally impressed me.

Giver Sculpture Of Violence
The homeboys, most recently signed to holy roar records, deliver a well thought out and carefully constructed, blistering and deeply political hardcore record. Yeah,I think one can´t deny that they really improved on this one.
The vocals and the crushing drums are really shining on here. The guitar-work isn´t very technical but it delivers some nice melodies and some well-executed chugging.
Another thing I noticed immediately is that this record is heavier again than theri last one and almost can catch up their debut.
The clean-vocals which are still in here, have slightley pushed more in the background and the harsh vocals are more prominent than on their last effort. If you´re searching for melodic hardcore which sticks in your mind and that is executed with al lot of passion, than this record is for you.

They reallyimproved on this one.
The record has a very dark and depressive atmosphere, created by the catchy and melodic riffs mostly.
The good thing is that they use clean vocals in a nice way, because they don´t pattern the whole song with it and keep it in the background of the harsh and well executed hardcore shouts.
Additionally there are breakdowns.
But don´t be afraid of that because they are placed and executed extremely well throughout the record, and aren´t overused.
On the whole a really nice metalcorerecord by a poorly underrated band from Germany!
Give it a try,you won´t regret it

I don´t know why everybody hates clean-vocals.rSure, there are some pretty shitty attempts (Caliban or something)rbut as well as they are executed well they do it for me.rAnd on this record this is the case.rTheir last record was a big package of just pure anger and heavy breakdowns and an ultra-pissed voice.rI can understand that people are disliking the new voice, for the new guy´s cleans aren´t for anyones favour, but he has diversity, which their old singer wsa lacking sometimes imo.rI believe this album is a step forward for the band.rThe instrumentation is still really heavy and the shouts are still very prominent, as well as the crushing breakdowns.rThe cleans are executed well and this record is just pure fun for fans of hardcore with a melodic side (Stick To YOur Guns,Stretch Arm Strong...).r

3.5 great

August Burns Red Messengers
August Burns Red Guardians
ABR delivering one of their most cohesive records and take a more approachable direction compared to their latest release which was a little too wanky for it's own good. Not sure how this will sit in after repeated listens but as of now this is a solid straight forward effort and spiritual successor to Messengers albeit a bit more poppy and overall more forgettable

Not as bad as expected and more cohesive than forever in any sense. Not quite up to par with I Am King but they managed to create a disturbing atmosphere with all the NIN industrial bits and the addition of more clean vocals and whispering. The songs are also easier to digest and not fully chopped up as they used to

Dead Man In Reno Ideology
With this record Dead Man In Reno deliver a very good atmept to add new aspects to the Deathcoregenre.rThey introduce nice melodies which are outsourced on a lot of other deathcorerecords(sadly) and it?s really heavy, with the raw and powerful exectued growls and screams, the crushing(but rare) breakdowns and some furious blastbeats.rWhat really stands out o this record are the guitars because you can here some really nice lead and solo work, like on Bete Noire, and some nice deathish riffing along with some decent chugging.rDespite the guitars aren?t anything you haven?t heard before they?re quite refreshing and remind me a little bit of Between The Buried And Me,especially on the track Reveries Daybreak.rAnother point is that there are cleanvocals.I know this draws a lot of people away, but here they are used sparely and only where it?s necessary(for example check the above-mentioned track). The voice itself isn?t anything special but it adds some diversity to the harsh vocals.rAnd not to forget:rthere?s a keyboard, and it really sounds nice combined with melodic licksn and sweeps and the deep growls by the frontman.rSo if you like deathcore which isn?t as boring as most bands that come out of this genre this one might be for you.

Very liking this so far.rVery different from ACP.rThey turned away from their deathcoreroots and turned more into melodic hardcore/metalcore,which sounds great imho. The instrumentation does still contain some chugging but in a good way and there are still some nice medlodies but not as "melodeathy" as on theri previous efforts.rThe vocals are also more focused on a normal hardcoreshout and the growls and highs are only occuring from time to time. The clean vocals are still on here. The good thing about them is that they aren?t as cheesy as in other bands.rThey are very prominent in the song your old ways which is, hands down, one of the best songs they have ever written.rA real surprise for me this year.rSure it isn?t innovative and there are some better bands in this genre like Misery Signals but it?s a fun record.rSo,if you like a mixture of Architects and Misery Signals(maybe a lil bit of BMTH?)this one is for you.r

Big step up from Pain Again. Still heavy, groovy metalcore but with much more instrumental variation and dynamics. Vocals also provide much more variety. The inclusion of celan vocals add a much needed diversity to their otherwise pretty one dimensional style
Vitriol (USA) To Bathe from the Throat of Cowardice
Definitely a clusterfuck of dying fetus, anaal and hat eternal on steroids. Next level heaviness with extremely technical proficient musician. I just wish they would give the songs some more room to breathe. This is just a 45 minute assault on your senses. if this is what you're looking for add point but for me personally, this is really tough to sit through in one listen

This is a tough one. While the individual performances are top notch and the riffing is really good, the tracks just blend together after the first half and no track really manages to differentiate itself from previous one. the clean vocal segments lack creativity and strong hooks, so basically a redundant addition, especially if you have Winston Mc Call Junior on vocals.
