There have been some great singles from the likes of The Kooks and Razorlight, however, I am usually left disappointed when I listen to their albums which usually contains what I call filler material. This is not the case with Air Traffic. I can listen to all 11 songs without skipping a track. Songs such as Shooting Star, just a simple piano riff and then launches into a very simple relaxed guitar solo which fits the song perfectly. There are also some great riffs on songs such as Never Even Told Me Her Name and Charlotte. All songs are catchy and great songs to listen to with friends or in the car or wherever. This is just simple music and it works well. The only problem I have with this band is they seem very predictable. Upon hearing Fractured Life I can't help thinking that their second album will sound very much the same. This is if they get a second album. They have been unfortunate not to get as much radio play as other bands such as Razorlight and The Kooks, which is a shame. While this is a good album I don't think they have the versatility or the talent to become one of indies elite such as Radiohead or Coldplay. As a result Air Traffic will probably just be one of those one hit indie wonders, but what an album. What is even more great is that this album is going for a bargain price of £4.99 for the album at iTunes. What's more it is DRM-free as well, so props to iTunes.Common BeJay-Z The BlueprintJay-Z UnpluggedNas STILLmatic3.5 greatJay-Z The Black AlbumJoss Stone The Soul SessionsHad the option of going the Britney Spears direction, but thankfully chose a more organic soul and R&B direction. Her voice can sound a bit samey after a while, but there is no doubting she is an amazing vocalist as Live 8 proved. However, there is only so much OTT soul wailing you can take before you want to throw yourself in front of a bus.2.0 poorToby Keith Honkytonk University
