Brand New Your Favorite Weapon |
Plenty of teenagers throw around the phrase "this band/song/album is about my life," but I think very few can say it with the conviction that I do about this album. All the trivialities of teen angst and insignificance are covered with no stone left unturned by personal messiah Jesse Lacey. I can't tell you how personally affecting songs like "Seventy Times Seven" "Last Chance to Lose Your Keys" and, unfortunately, "Magazines" are in particular. |
Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me |

Dashboard Confessional The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most |
people can point to 'Hands Down' or 'Stolen' as the best Dashboard Confessional song, but to do so would be to ignore one of the many tuly brilliant songs on here. This is Chris Carraba opening up his entire world for us; every word is genuine, every note timed impeccably, and nearly every part of the album perfect in terms of synchronicity, flow, and execution. |

Nate Ruess' best work to date is also one of the best pop albums ever produced. From the whimsical harpsichord on 'Snails' to the downright catchiness of Time Bomb, this album has it all. The songwriting and construction is top-of-the-line: even the extensive bridges have their place on every song that they're used in. This album is witty, fun and downright amazing. |
The Strokes Is This It |
Third Eye Blind Third Eye Blind |
I'm pretty sure this is the reason why I listen to music, and I just found out why. |

Wu-Tang Clan Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) |
Quite simply, this album made me give a shit about rap. |
