5.0 classic
Animal Collective Merriweather Post Pavilion
The most accurate way to describe a full listen of MPP is like Alice's adventure in Wonderland. The listener is Alice and the album is Wonderland.
Bad Religion Suffer
Bad Religion succeeds in balancing intensity and melody effortlessly. The entire album is interesting a never loses its strength.
Belle and Sebastian If You're Feeling Sinister
Belle and Sebastian This Is Just A Modern Rock Song
An incredibly underrated release. Every song is perfect and the songs flow like any classic EP should. It is better by itself, rather than on Push Barman....
Bjork Vespertine
Wow. This album is absolutely breathtaking. Bjork is the most innovative and talented musician alive. If only i could marry her.
John Coltrane A Love Supreme
A intense and cerebral masterpiecerColtrane sculpts moods and melodies that are impossible to grasp.
Lost In The Trees A Church That Fits Our Needs
Low Things We Lost in the Fire
Minor Threat Complete Discography
Minor Threat Minor Threat
Oh shi, its hardcore at its very finest. Doesn't get much better than this.
My Bloody Valentine Loveless
Neutral Milk Hotel In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
A classic that pretty much anyone can enjoy. Really really really freaking good song writing and the album flows beautifully. Ghost is orgasmic.
Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral
No Cash Run Your Pockets
Incredibly underrated punk album. Surprisingly good instrumentation and song writing, and beauty and intensity that is unmatched by it's crack rock steady brothers.
Sonic Youth Daydream Nation
Listening to Daydream Nation all the way through is like falling into a long dream. You fall asleep to the jangly guitars and soft whispers of Kim Gordon at the beginning of Teen Age Riot and wake up at the final grinding notes of Eliminator Jr. During this time, you escape from reality completely. Unaware of anything else, Sonic Youth is able to suck someone up and keep them in their musical landscape for an extended period of time. This is why it is my favorite album.
Streetlight Manifesto Everything Goes Numb
Greatest ska album of all time. Every song is perfectly written and there is basically nothing negative to say about it. The lyrics and vocal work are great, the instrumentation and horn arrangements are phenomenal, and every song has perfect structure and melody.
Sun Kil Moon Ghosts of the Great Highway
The Smiths The Queen Is Dead
The Velvet Underground The Velvet Underground & Nico

Explosions in the Sky The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place
Faith/Void Split
Fleet Foxes Helplessness Blues
Frank Ocean channel ORANGE
Friendzone DX
manages to be hugely life affirming, but the sounds are so sterile and synthetic! magical magical stuff.
Fucked Up The Chemistry of Common Life
Imaginative and brave hardcore that succeeds through sonically interesting songwriting and gritty punk rock.

Fugazi 13 Songs
Giles Corey Giles Corey
Grizzly Bear Veckatimest
Hot Cross Cryonics
Indian Summer Science 1994
Infest No Man's Slave
Jawbreaker 24 Hour Revenge Therapy
Jawbreaker Unfun
Jawbreaker at their rawest. Every song is frantic and beautifully written. The only drawback is the songs don't complement each other as they should, and may not be the most accessible. With more listens though, its an extremely solid album. Best Songs: Want, Fine Day, Incomplete, Down.
Loma Prieta I.V.
Melt-Banana Bambi's Dilemma
Miles Davis Relaxin' With the Miles Davis Quintet
Mineral The Power of Failing
Minutemen Double Nickels on the Dime
i'm coming clean, i'm rating this album without actually listening to every song. I don't need to though, the first 20 are so spectacular i dont even need the rest. but i guess i have them for when i'm ready. But seriously, these songs have huge grooves and huge heart, and that in itself is a accomplishment. D. Boon and Mike Watt did great things for punk.

Husker Du Zen Arcade
Husker Du New Day Rising
Iceage New Brigade
Japandroids Post-Nothing
Half of this album is phenomenal. Young Hearts Spark Fire, Wet Hair, and Sovereignty capture the youthful energy of 90s emo and combine it with a thick guitar sound and frantic drumming. Unfortunately, most of the other songs do not hold this standard. They're still pretty good, but don't have that extra something.
Jawbreaker Dear You
Joyce Manor Joyce Manor
Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
King Crimson In the Court of the Crimson King
La Dispute Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair
One of the few instances when being overly theatrical and melodramatic is pulled off well. Instantly beautiful and hard hitting as well as creative and original. I only wish it was a bit shorter.

A good introduction to the style and different members of OFWGKTA. Lacks consistency

Washed Out Within and Without
You're wrong to expect any action packed indie pop from Within and Without. It's a mood record for late summer nights, and gets the job done fairly well. 3 for the music. .5 for the awesome album art.
