Animals As Leaders Weightless
Musically and compositionally flawless. A timeless masterpiece flecked only by a few moments of hiccups in the production, which to many is a trivial matter. An album that will change the very definition of Heavy Metal and its impact on its listeners. An album that will define a decade. Animals as Leaders will be a household name in years to come.
Between the Buried and Me The Parallax II: Future Sequence
The rest of their catalog is nothing compared to this. I don't say that lightly. This is a joy to listen to.

Steven Wilson was just the thing Opeth needed to catapult them from "excellent band" to "peerless band."
Opeth Damnation
Porcupine Tree Fear of a Blank Planet
Protest the Hero Fortress (Instrumental)
Protest the Hero Volition
Royksopp Melody A.M.
Strapping Young Lad Alien
Devin made a mental sacrifice to go off of his bipolar medication to produce this record... the result is the heaviest, most insane collection of music you'll hear this side of the gates of Hell. A masterpiece.

Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP 2
Eminem's best release in nearly a decade. Delightfully technical, silly, and serious. A fitting end to the saga.

Short and sweet. Skrillex has his own distinct and unique style, and if he keeps innovating, he's got good years ahead of him.

Breaking Benjamin Saturate
Breaking Benjamin We Are Not Alone
Children of Bodom Hate Crew Deathroll

Dethklok Dethalbum III
Devin Townsend Project Epicloud
Most logical direction for him to take, career-wise. It's a combination of his two most rpopular and well-received albums, Addicted and Deconstruction. It has a soul, and isn't such ra pretentious offering as Ghost was.
Dream Theater Train of Thought
Dream Theater Octavarium
Dream Theater A Dramatic Turn of Events
The depature of Mike Portnoy leaves something missing in the drums for this album, but it seems the "Dramatic Turn of Events" mentioned in the album title has sobered the other members. Here you will find a renewed vigor in musicality, vs. technicality, resembling their earlier material. Most likely their best since Six Degrees.
Eminem Relapse
Halestorm The Strange Case Of...
James LaBrie Static Impulse
Jordan Rudess Notes on a Dream
He's one of the best pianists I have ever heard, but the noodliness detracts from some of the songs, unfortunately.
Maroon 5 Songs About Jane
Maroon 5 It Won't Be Soon Before Long
Martin O'Donnell Halo 2, Vol. 2 OST
Mastodon Leviathan
Megadeth Youthanasia
Meshuggah Destroy Erase Improve
Meshuggah I

Metallica Ride the Lightning
Metallica Death Magnetic
Modest Mouse This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About
Opeth My Arms, Your Hearse
Opeth The Candlelight Years
I don't really like these albums, wish they had included BWP/Damnation/Ghost, but the box is gorgeous and looks mysterious and edgy on my shelf.
Porcupine Tree The Incident
Slipknot Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses
Steve Jablonsky Gears of War 3 - The Soundtrack
Can't give a very high rating to a soundtrack that plays on motifs that were only original back in 2005, but I thoroughly enjoyed my play through Gears 3, and the music fit.rThis guy did the music for Transformers? Ugh.
Tenacious D The Pick of Destiny
The Dear Hunter Orange
The Dillinger Escape Plan Option Paralysis
Thomas Giles Pulse

3.0 good
Between the Buried and Me The Silent Circus
Chevelle La Gárgola
Children of Bodom Are You Dead Yet?
Deadmau5 4x4=12
Devin Townsend Ziltoid the Omniscient
Ziltoid is a fun metal album, a rarity in the current scene which seems to be saturated with overly-serious album concepts.rIt flows wonderfully, every song memorable, until N9, where it grinds to a screeching halt, as if Devy lost interest in the album halfway through writing it.
Devin Townsend Project Ki
Dio This Is Your Life
Kind of hit or miss. Metallica's performance is the best. Tenacious D's cover was very disappointing.
Dream Theater Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Dream Theater Awake
Dream Theater Black Clouds and Silver Linings
Dream Theater Live Scenes From New York
Eminem The Eminem Show
A lot of excellent songs, some of his best, but also some of his worst. rNot a good idea to have your daughter feature on a song with only one repeated voice sample that doesn't fit musically.
Five Finger Death Punch Got Your Six
Mastodon Crack the Skye
Meshuggah Nothing
Modest Mouse We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank
Skillet Comatose
Soilwork Stabbing the Drama
Soilwork Sworn to a Great Divide
Strapping Young Lad The New Black
The Dear Hunter Green

Adrenaline Mob Omerta
Between the Buried and Me The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues
A less technical record makes for more focused songwriting and more powerful music. I guess BTBAM saying this one's "easier to play" works out.

Dream Theater A Change of Seasons
Dream Theater Falling into Infinity
Dream Theater When Dream and Day Unite
Dream Theater Systematic Chaos
Eminem Encore
Five Finger Death Punch The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 2

Metallica St. Anger
Modest Mouse Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks
Modest Mouse No One's First, and You're Next
