This album has everything you could ever want. Great songs, great lyrics, great playing (Hail Lars).
If you want to hear 2 tracks go for the spectacularly good "At The Gallow End" and the sublime "Samarithan"
A fist in the face for those who think slow death metal, gothic wimpery or hippy soner nonsense are real doom metal.
In fact I think I was too restrained above. This album is better than that. This is THE pinnacle of music - screw Bach, Beethoven, Mozart etc, in fact screw Iommi - ALL HAIL EDLING!

Even the cack handed reworking of the gravediggers march is great. And I've seen them live and it was the best musical experience of my life. In fact it was spiritual.

No other band have managed to capture such spirit in their recordings, no other band could incorporate the over the top operatics of Messiah Marcolin.
