So lyrically captivating and musically interesting; easily one of my favorite albums of all time. Aaron is so honest and endearing in both his lyrics and vocal approach. He makes this band great, and I've yet to come across a frontman as impressive as him. He truly shines in this album. The band accompanies him perfectly in this album. They find a balance that was seamless. It's the most I've ever connected with an album, and will always hold a strong place in my heart. |

Rufio The Comfort of Home |
The most complete Pop-Punk album from the best Pop-Punk band out there. It's cohesive, well-executed Pop-Punk with surprisingly mature lyrics for a band in the genre. Every member of the band does his part so well that there are no particular standout performances, but some breathtaking tracks. Pop-Punk at it's best. |
Say Anything ...Is a Real Boy |
Spastic and obsessively performed, this is the pinnacle of Max Bemis' work. He was clearly in a bad spot when he wrote this album, but it made him all the more interesting to listen to. His obsession with drugs and sex are really obvious in this album--and frankly he acts like a complete douche--but the music that accompanies his witty lyrics are so chaotically arranged that it's clear that he has a problem. It's clear he's not perfect. And in "Admit it!!!" he lets us know about his perceptions of himself, leaving us with a complete impression of a guy who has problems and knows about it, but still loves making music because it's all he has. |
