woah, look at that crazy album artwork... I now have the urge to listen to this... |

Billy Talent Billy Talent |
In my opinion this is a classic punk/alternative album. Billy Talent form their unique sound full of energy yet extremely catchy. Some people might be turned off by certain aspects of this album at first, but surprisingly its actually a very deep album, by which I mean it can grow on you a lot and just gets better the more you listen to it. |
Billy Talent Billy Talent II |
Billy Talent continue to produce extremely catchy songs, but this time around go for more of a pop punk sound. Not that I'm complaining, they still have almost all of the aggressiveness that they had on their self titled. II feels more like a collection of songs because of this, and what a collection it is. Almost every song on here has potential to become your favourite song on the album, in fact I've found over the years my favourite song shifting from one to another. Burn the Evidence which used to be one of my least favourites on there is now one of my favourites. For me this is another classic from BT. |
Billy Talent Dead Silence |
Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me |
Thank you sputnik, without you I would have never found this album. One of my favourites of all time and an album that grew on me and grew on me. What makes this album fantastic are all the layers it has, layers of instruments, layers of vocals, and basically layers and layers of emotion. This album shines out as the best amongst Brand New's great discography. |

Defeater Travels |
One of the best hardcore albums I've ever heard, the songs are intense and the story that accompanies them is just as intense. |
Defeater Empty Days and Sleepless Nights |
Continuing the defeater story in a superb way. Not only does this album stand on it's own as one of the greatest hardcore albums ever, it adds to the value of Travels by giving the listener another perspective of the story. Some people complain that they're tired of the same concept, but I think both albums benefit from this. |

La Dispute Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair |
Hmm, this really could be my favourite post hardcore album of all time. La dispute sets themselves apart from the hordes of other post-hardcore/screamo bands out there, with amazing poetic lyrics, and just a unique instrumental sound. |
La Dispute Wildlife |
Not sure whether I like this album better then somewhere... but I'm definately glad that they went this way rather than more of the same. Some really fantastic songs on here, and somehow La Dispute has gotten even better at writing lyrics. Full of emotion, and fantastic themes. This is the best album I've heard of 2011. |

This album is awesome, I'm not a fan of pop music for the most part but I love this album. She's got a really great voice and she uses it to sing some pretty deep lyrics. This doesn't just feel like a collection of songs like most pop albums, it feels like a complete product, and leaves you satisfied with every listen. The soundscapes on this album are incredible, it feels almost as if you've just experienced an apocalypse and yet still have so much hope. Lights shows she actually gives a shit about making good music unlike most of her contemporaries. For me this is easily a 4.5 - 5 |
