Everything sounds amazing. The bass is thick and audible. The drums are at times subtle, and at other times, (behind space '99) right in your face. This is probably some of anders' best vocal work as well, the midrange roaring is what he does best. He also fits some cleans in there without overdoing it like he does on later albums. The best thing, however, is the guitarwork. The riffs are awesome and memorable, and the solos are both blazing fast and melodic. 5/5In Flames WhoracleIn Flames Sounds of a Playground FadingInsomnium One for SorrowIron Maiden The Number of the BeastLed Zeppelin Led Zeppelin IVOmnium Gatherum New World ShadowsOpeth Still LifeScar Symmetry The Unseen EmpireI swear to you, this is Scar's best album yet. Vast improvement from DMD, especially the vocals, which surpassed Christian's vocals in my opinion.Skyfire SpectralSkyfire Esoteric4.5 superbBeyond Creation The AuraChildren of Bodom Follow the ReaperIn Flames ClaymanInsomnium Above the Weeping WorldMasterplan AeronauticsVery enjoyable power metal. Great production and guitars, I especially love the vocals. They're well done and he doesn't get ridiculously shrieky like many other power metal vocalists. Not much to dislike about this album in my opinion.Obscura CosmogenesisScar Symmetry Symmetric in DesignSkyfire Mind RevolutionTheocracy As the World Bleeds4.0 excellentAmorphis Silent WatersBlinded Colony Bedtime PrayersGardenian SindustriesNormally, I don't like having a ton of clean singing in death metal, but Papathanasia pulls it off pretty well. Very nice albumIn Flames Reroute to RemainIn Flames Lunar StrainInsomnium Across the DarkIf it ain't broke, don't fix it. Insomnium hasn't strayed much from their normal formula, other than making this album darker and perhaps more melancholic than previous efforts, as well as the addition of clean vocals, but I like it that way.
