There will never be another band quite like NoMeansNo. Hailing from Canada and playing a rtechnical and rhythmically complex brand of punk rock, the band has never broken through rwith mainstream success, but that doesn't seem to bother them at all. After over 30 years rand 10 studio albums, it's safe to say Wrong is their crowning achievement. The music is rangry, hilarious, beautiful, and utterly original. It is nearly impossible to capture the ressence of Wrong; it doesn't fit in with the landscape of what was being made at the time rnor with what has been made since. Each song is a concoction of different styles and ideas, rseamlessly shifting tempos at a rate that would make jazz musicians proud. A bizarre punk rrock contradiction of being both instrumentally ambitious and emotionally raw, it is truly rtimeless music. Far and away one of my favorite albums of all time and a criminally under rappreciated gem. |
