5.0 classic
Dream Theater Images and Words
Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory
just amazingrhighlights: strange deja vu, fatal tradegy, beyond this life, home, dance of eternity
Kamelot The Black Halo
Best power metal album ever made, nuff said. Ok maybe not, Memento Mori is the best power metal song too
Metallica Master of Puppets
Nevermore This Godless Endeavor
Suspyre When Time Fades
one of the most consistently complex yet listenable progressive metal albums ive ever heard. i think if this band keeps it up they could be the next dream theater.

4.5 superb

Closure in Moscow First Temple
Coheed and Cambria From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness

Muse Absolution
Nevermore Dead Heart in a Dead World
Orphaned Land The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR
its seems like alot of the comments and ratings were based off the review and the people hadnt listened to the album yet. im not going argue with the specific reasons the reviewer said its bad, but in general i really didnt notice that much of a difference in quality between this and mabool. the truth is, while the album is very inconsistent, its filled with great songs and id defiantly recommend if you enjoyed mabool.rHighlights: From broken vessels, codeword: uprising, disciples of the sacred oath
Pain of Salvation The Perfect Element, Part 1
Phil Keaggy Lights of Madrid
Porcupine Tree In Absentia
Porcupine Tree Deadwing
Protest the Hero Fortress
Pure Reason Revolution The Dark Third
Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime
Rhapsody of Fire The Frozen Tears of Angels
I feel so nerdy listening to this but the music is great, if extremely cheesy. Reign of terror is one of the more incredible songs ive heard and obviously stands out, but there are plenty of other good songs as well. The guitar playing is quite similar to malsteem and the neoclassical solos are defiantly my favorite parts of the album
Rodrigo y Gabriela 11:11
Santana Caravanserai
Seventh Wonder Mercy Falls
Very consistent and solid, great songs, the only thing it needs is more creativity. While all the songs sound great, they do sound the same in the end and one has to wonder how the band is going to move forward without sounding monotonous
Shinedown The Sound of Madness
im not a huge fan of the hard rock/post grunge genre, but if im in the mood for that this is the album i listen to. The regular songs are energetic and the ballads are powerful. pretty much all you can ask for in a genre that usually breeds mediocrity.
Switchfoot The Beautiful Letdown
Switchfoot Nothing is Sound
Symphony X The Divine Wings of Tragedy
Symphony X The Odyssey
Symphony X Iconoclast
The Fray How to Save a Life
The Mars Volta The Bedlam in Goliath

4.0 excellent
Adagio Dominate
Amaranthe Amaranthe
Ayreon The Human Equation
Beyond Twilight For the Love of Art and the Making
pros: counterplay between lead vocals and backing choirs, good orchestral arrangements,
epic, very entertaining
cons: cheezy, guitarwork is fine but i'd expect more from a progressive metal band, dividing
the cd into 43 really short songs is extremely annoying
Overall a very enjoyable listen for any fan of neoclassical prog
Circus Maximus Isolate
It has great songs but some parts are cheesy and the vocals annoy me
Dream Theater Awake
Dream Theater Systematic Chaos
i had to raise the rating after finally getting into the in in the presence of enemies songs, they really make the album
Dream Theater Black Clouds and Silver Linings
Dream Theater A Dramatic Turn of Events
Frank Zappa Civilization, Phaze III
Hurt Goodbye To The Machine
i actually thought wars was the best song, well was good too but wars was more powerful and has a great guitar part
John Petrucci Suspended Animation
Kamelot Poetry for the Poisoned
A lot of people have criticized this album for failing to live up to the standards of epica
and the black halo. while this certianly doesnt reach the epic porportions of those albums
it has good songs and at least shows kamelot is willing to change its sound rather than try
to recreate the black halo simply cause it was the best
Lamb of God As the Palaces Burn
Metallica Death Magnetic
Minus the Bear Menos El Oso
Minus the Bear Omni
Muse Black Holes & Revelations

Dark Angel Time Does Not Heal
Day of Fire Cut & Move
Echoes Nature|Existence
Falconer Among Beggars and Thieves
Fates Warning Disconnected
Fates Warning A Pleasant Shade of Gray
Incubus (USA-CA) A Crow Left of the Murder...
I really like the new sound and the album has alot of great parts, i just felt a bit put off by an equal amount of parts that just didnt work the way they were supposed to and eneded up cringe-worthy or songs that were just boring
Jay-Z and Linkin Park Collision Course
King Crimson The Power to Believe
Louis Armstrong The Hot Fives & Sevens, Vol III
Nevermore The Obsidian Conspiracy
Nile Those Whom the Gods Detest
Porcupine Tree The Incident
Steve Vai Passion and Warfare
Suspyre A Great Divide
Switchfoot Oh! Gravity.
The Killers Hot Fuss
Three Days Grace One-X
To-Mera Delusions
The album does follow a formula, it is still pretty complex though, dropping it to a 1.5 just for that seems really harsh
Tomorrow's Eve Mirror of Creation 2 - Genesis II
Trans-Siberian Orchestra Beethoven's Last Night
Yes Magnification

3.0 good
Ayreon 01011001
Devin Townsend Ziltoid the Omniscient
Finger Eleven Them vs. You vs. Me
Hoobastank The Reason
Incubus (USA-CA) Make Yourself
Metallica Kill 'Em All
Myrath Hope
Nickelback All the Right Reasons
Pillar Where Do We Go from Here
ok its not that bad. i agree with the "i would have recommended this six yeas ago" and the unoriginality but theres still songs i enjoy every once in a while. And i dont think all the songs are the same
Suspyre The Silvery Image
The Human Abstract Digital Veil

2.5 average
Avenged Sevenfold Nightmare
Control Denied The Fragile Art of Existence
Delain April Rain
Disturbed The Sickness
Its got good catchy riffs but overall very mediocre, a good album to show how most mainstream metal just isnt that great
Dream Theater Falling into Infinity
Being a huge fan of dream theater, i feel like criticism directed at alot of their albums is too harsh as they have almost always released great albums in my opinion. this album was the exception however, as while its not necessarily bad, it was just so boring and unimpressive that theres just no reason to keep listening to it when you can listen to any of their other albums
Firewind Days of Defiance
Kings of Leon Only By The Night
Linkin Park Minutes to Midnight
Pantera Vulgar Display of Power
Seether Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces
Spheric Universe Experience Unreal
Switchfoot Hello Hurricane
Threshold Dead Reckoning

2.0 poor
Cannibal Corpse The Wretched Spawn
Korn Korn III: Remember Who You Are
Nickelback Dark Horse
Silverchair Young Modern
maybe im not hearing what every one else is, while this album seems like it would be good for some reason it just sounded terrible to me. i could go into details, but simply put i just didnt enjoy this album at all.
Switchfoot Learning To Breathe
The White Stripes Elephant
when i was younger i was brainwashed into liking this album but not anymore. while i understand that the rawness and simplicity of the whitestripes is what is supposed to give it an edge, i just feel like music should have a bit more, well, music put into it to be considered good. Most these songs are seriously just one or two very simple riffs played over and over
Winds of Plague The Great Stone War
Winds of Plague Against the World

1.5 very poor
Gorgoroth Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt
Green Day American Idiot
Metallica Reload

1.0 awful
Drifting Icon Submerged in the Andromeda
