A marvelous combination of the band's previous sounds into a tightly focused release. It's not weird or experimental, but the songs are damn near perfect.

I really didn't like this as much as Satori at first. And I still don't. But I can definitely appreciate this as it's own thing and a continuation of the sound they've worked to forge. It's addicting and catchy and it's a hell of a grower.

Bad Religion Christmas Songs
Quick, imagine what Bad Religion sounds like! Next, imagine what they would sound like playing various Christmas standards! If you have heard both of these categories of music before, then you have heard this in your mind already. You could probably perfectly recreate it mentally with no problem, irony intact.

But that's not as fun.

Broadway Contexture: Gods, Men & The Infinite Cosmos
CarboHydroM Prime Legacy
Will review this in a bit, but the gist is CHM beautifully translates his arrangement skills to writing original music. The piece is too dedicated to being a faux soundtrack to be really catchy throughout, but it's more diverse than most chiptune albums, and it really does sound like an amazingly authentic soundtrack to a short SMU.

Devin Townsend Project Z2
While I'm not much into Devin Townsend, I love the Sky Blue disc on this album - it's catchy and epic. Some songs in the middle can get a little bit dull sometimes but there's nothing absolutely bad on here. Dark Matters is a wonderful listen while it's playing, but I really can't find anything that memorable about any of the melodies on it. Maybe I haven't given it enough listens, but I also don't feel like the comedy has all that much replay value, so it's kinda lame that the "Z2" portion of Z2 isn't as good in my eyes.rStill, both discs are worth checking out, even if you don't usually mess with his motherload of material.

Remember those last two records that this band put out? Yeah, this sounds exactly like them; vaguely more focused but the pacing of the album isn't as dead on. It gets to the point where it's really hard to tell these songs apart (not only from each other but from the rest of the band's discography). But oddly, none of that really detracts from the listening experience. It's still addicting as ever.
