5.0 classic
Amy Winehouse Back to Black
Arca Xen
Azealia Banks Broke With Expensive Taste
Beach House Devotion
One of my favorite albums of all time. Every song is great and flows smoothly into the next... definitely an 'album' and not a collection of songs.
Beach House Teen Dream
I want to like this more because 'Silver Soul' and 'Used To Be' are two of my favorite songs, but there are just so many blah tracks on here. Too bad.
Best Coast Crazy For You
This is the perfect example of an album that people want to hate so bad that they can't possibly look past its surface. Whatever.
Bing and Ruth Tomorrow Was The Golden Age
Bing and Ruth No Home of the Mind
Biosphere Substrata
Bjork Homogenic
Just average. Nothing more. I've never understood her hype... so much potential but her lyrics are SOOOO CORRNNNYYYY.
Bjork Vespertine
Brian Eno Ambient 1: Music For Airports
Britney Spears In the Zone
Britney Spears Blackout
Definitely her best album (not to mention the introduction of dub step into mainstream music).
Carly Rae Jepsen Emotion
Chelsea Wolfe Apokalypsis
Hated it first listen, loved it second. Beautiful, haunting perfection. Every song is a unique and stand-alone statement.rA classic.
Crystal Castles Crystal Castles II
Death Cab for Cutie The Photo Album
People can hate on them all they want... but they can never take away this masterpiece of barely-suppressed anger. Perfect.
Death Cab for Cutie Plans
It's a strained comparison, but this is (to me) Death Cab's 'Out Of Time': Two of their best songs (Soul Meets Body and I Will Follow You Into The Dark), and the rest is just forgettable. Nothing truly offensive, but just too inconsistent for me.
Depeche Mode Violator
Duster Stratosphere
Forest Swords Engravings
Fugees The Score
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
Goldfrapp Felt Mountain
Grizzly Bear Yellow House
Atmospheric, baroque perfection. Definitely an album that must be played BEGINNING to END... no skipping... no starting at the best song... just playing.
Grizzly Bear Veckatimest
Grouper Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill
In short: I love it. Am listening to it constantly. A masterpiece of murky folk rock.
Interpol Turn on the Bright Lights
Interpol Antics
Kanye West Yeezus
Kim Petras Slut Pop
Kraftwerk The Man-Machine
Lady Gaga The Fame
Lady Gaga The Fame Monster
Lana Del Rey Ultraviolence
Linda Perhacs Parallelograms
Liz Phair Exile In Guyville
Maybe A LITTLE overrated... but still very (very) good.
Lost In The Trees A Church That Fits Our Needs
Low I Could Live in Hope
M.I.A. Kala
M.I.A. Maya
Madonna The Immaculate Collection
Madonna Ray of Light
Madonna Confessions on a Dancefloor
Miley Cyrus Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz
Mitski bury me at makeout creek
Mount Eerie Clear Moon
Neutral Milk Hotel In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
It took a couple of listens... but when you get it you get it. Brings out the abused child in all of us...
Nico Desertshore
Dark. Mysterious. Sexy. Perfect. Her untouchable masterpiece.
Nirvana Nevermind
Simply one of the greatest records of all time; deserving of every accolade its ever received.
Perfume Genius Learning
Portishead Dummy
Portishead Third
Simon and Garfunkel Bridge Over Troubled Water
'Classic' is, really, the only word for it. Not a single bad track to be found, and some of the greatest songs of all time (I'm talking to you 'Boxer' and 'Bridge Over Troubled Waters'). Perfect.
Slowdive Slowdive (LP)
The Antlers Hospice
Absolutely devastating. You can't listen to Kettering, Bear, and Epilogue without dying.
The Cranberries Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?
Definitely a 90s standout. It has the same great voice and melodies as their later albums without falling victim to their sometimes corny lyrics. Love.
The Thermals The Body, The Blood, The Machine
These New Puritans Field of Reeds
Zomby With Love

Charli XCX How I'm Feeling Now
Chelsea Wolfe Unknown Rooms: A Collection of Acoustic Songs
I LOVE The Way We Used To... but a lot of the other songs just blended in. Maybe I'll listen to it again and change my rating... but for now this is about a 3.7.
Chelsea Wolfe Pain Is Beauty
Cocteau Twins Treasure
Courtney Barnett sometimes i sit and think, and sometimes i just sit
Crystal Castles Crystal Castles
Dance Gavin Dance Artificial Selection
Danny Brown Atrocity Exhibition
Danny Brown uknowhatimsayin¿
David Bowie Blackstar
Deafheaven Sunbather
Death Cab for Cutie Transatlanticism
I was originally (admittedly) a hater... but it's certainly grown on me. Their best after 'Photo Album'.
Death Cab for Cutie Narrow Stairs
I THOUGHT I loved this album... but the more that I listen to it... the more I have to conclude that most of the songs are corny or forgettable. Cath... and Bixby Canyon Bridge are great, but the album is dragged down by the middle and end.

The Cranberries No Need to Argue
Either their best or their worst. Best: Zombie, Disappointment, Everything I Said, No Need To Argue, Daffodil Lament, Dreaming My Dreams, Ridiculous Thoughts. Absolute worst thing they've put out: Ode To My Family, Twenty One, I Can't Be With You, Yeat's Grave, The Icicle Melts, Empty. Overall, though, the strong easily overpower the weak and make their most ambitious and entertaining album.

I was initially a little nervous about it until I got to 'Over Now'... which may be one of my favorite break-up songs of all time. Loved. Second half is definitely much better than the first, but there is a lot of great potential here. I bet the next album will be a solid 4-4.5.

I don't understand a lot of the flack that this album is getting... Falling Down is actually one of my favorite
songs. Her voice is definitely throaty, but I'm into that. The production is beautiful and I like her spin on the
lyrics. I'm admittedly not a huge Tom Waits fan, but it sounds like she did her best to give him credit and she
obviously admires him. Idk. Maybe I'm just an amateur and everybody else has better eardrums. It seems like
she walked into this and there was nothing she could do BUT get hate.

I, for one, don't understand all the flack that this album is getting. It's cute, airy, melodic, and catchy. No, it's not asking for the wall to get torn down, and no, it's not going to win the Pulitzer any time soon, but that's not the point. It's an early-fall romance; beautiful in its simplicity.

I believe previous reviews that this will grow with future listens. Right now I recognize that it is deliciously weird, unique, and textured, but there's not much to bring me back. I guess I'll have to take the word of others and force myself ._.

Am I crazy or is this pretty good? I thought it was going to be GREAT... and then we got to the 'Em sketch' where he says he's outside of an internet troll's house. Like, don't you have better things to do? Still, kudos. Thought it was going to be a catastrophe.

Definitely more tight and cohesive than his debut. While there are some solid songs ('Worth the Weight' and 'Tribe' stick out), this is kept from >4.0 by its lack of originality: nothing exciting enough to crack a chart, nor interesting enough to be a true concept album.

I like this a lot. It's decidedly uncool-- like Alanis Morissette meets Madonna? Something in that arena? It feels dated. Maybe what was cute in 2012? But I like that. Everyone else is giving that 'Rihanna voice' with the breaks and stuff, and here's this chick giving emo vocals. Good for you, girl.

I don't think this is half as "glossy" or "over-produced" as people are making it out to be. It isn't as good as their last album, but still solid and with some peaks ("Reach Out" sticks out to me).

I wanted to like this (I really, really did). If I had to put my finger on something, I would say that their voices just weren't interesting enough to carry me past the first couple of songs. For all the talk about their lyrics, they weren't emotive enough to pull it off. Sorry. Interesting production, though.

Uuummm... I have to admit that this is EXACTLY what I would classify as 'my type of music' (aka hazy/lazy vocals and fuzzy guitars)... but it was just missing something. I wasn't bored when listening, but I didn't feel the need to listen to it (ever) again. Lots of potential... but maybe next time.

I wanted to like it... I really did... but I found myself fading in and out of interest. Her voice is definitely pretty; the production is definitely cutesy; but it didn't sum up to much. Three Little Birds was an exception, but not enough of one to bring the rest of the album up.

I don't MIND the album (it's probably more like an 'average') but I have to give a lower rating because there was the POTENTIAL for a 4-4.5. If they could have done the entire album like 'Candy Girl' and 'Wish You Were Red' (i.e. strong bass melody with moody lyrics) then this would have been one of the best of the year. Instead its a hazy mess. Her voice is so unique and they buried under noise.

I'll admit that I actually would have enjoyed listening to this if I didn't speak English... or even if I just didn't know the meaning of a couple words (I'm sure you can guess which ones).rBut I do. I fully understand the argument that 'those words' are supposed to provoke emotions and are not targeted at any group, but that doesn't change the fact that they ARE targeted at a group. rToo bad. He's obviously got talent, but he's behind the curve on this one.
