Guitarist Brooks Betts and bassist Jeremy Lenzo from Mayday Parade started this new project,
teaming up with vocalist and violinist Alexandra Kees. Hoping to stray from their pop-punk
roots and to pull off a new folk/indie rock sound, they achieved what they were going for
wonderfully and this is a superb folk record showcasing fantastic instrumentation and
beautiful vocal performances from all three band members.

I shouldn't like this, but goddamn it's so catchy. Clean vocals sound like the ADTR dude.
Screamer is the guy from Chelsea Grin which is pretty shitty. Solid guitar work, average
drumming, and the bass is actually audible. Pretty pleasant surprise from a band I expected
nothing out of. |

Linkin Park Living Things |
After the questionable release of A Thousand Suns, fans everywhere, including myself, were
left to wonder if Linkin Park was dead. This album gave them their answer. While it's not as
spectacular or as angst-filled as previous releases, it's a decent album. With more of
Shinoda (who is honestly their most talented memeber) and less of the angry screams, Linkin
Park have shown their softer side with this one. While it is boring during the latter half,
there's some good to be found here. It's not the return to form that many expected, but it
certainly is a solid release nonetheless. |

Woe, Is Me Genesi[s] |
Let me give you Genesi[s] in a nutshell. Imagine a band with no melody. No catchy choruses.
No sense of even wanting to sound decent. That's exactly what Woe, Is Me decided to do with
this terrible sophomore effort. There are virtually no guitar riffs on this whole album,
just chugs and breakdowns. LOTS of breakdowns. Inaudible bass, monotone screams, and average
cleans lead this album to its demise. The drums are the only redeeming factor on this pile
of shit, and that's not saying much. Overall, Woe, Is Me have shown that they are capable of
bringing absolutely nothing new to the table. |
