5.0 classic
Linkin Park Hybrid Theory
If Michael Jackson was the King of pop then Linkin Park are the kings of Nu Metal! Honestly,
Rap-Rock has never, until this album been so close to perfection. Esoterically speaking, as
a teenager growing up I could relate so well to the lyrics. This band was like the anthem to
all my angst, trivial/incomprehensible sadness. There's a mouth watering blend of heavy
riffs and calm melodic synthesisers. This is just one of those albums where I can listen all
the way through without skipping a track. Each song is just so memorable and catchy! You
might be thinking that 5/5 is an overreaction but this is the band that got me into music.
Without sounding too pretentious, before LP I was lost for musical direction.

4.5 superb
Deftones White Pony

4.0 excellent
Daft Punk Random Access Memories
I think this is an incredible throwback to 70s disco. As usual there's going to be loads of
stuck up sods who are going to rate this around 1 just to be edgy.
Deadmau5 Get Scraped
Deftones Around the Fur
Deftones Saturday Night Wrist
Deftones Diamond Eyes
Disclosure Settle
All the decent songs were released before the album.
Green Day Dookie
This takes everything that made Kerplunk so awesome and kicks it up a few notches! Much more
meaningful songs without losing that punk, adolescent edge. From Burnout you can already
tell that this is a band that wants to be taken seriously. A furious opening that briefly
details the joys of being young and foolish. "I'm not growing up, I'm just burning out."
This describes the sleepy effect that weed has on you after the peak of the high is over.
This is an album that is able to use swear words for emphasis and not sound puerile unlike
their newest album, "?Uno!" which sacrifices a lot of lyrical integrity to appeal to today's
kids who don't like to think too hard. My favorites are: "Longview", "Welcome To Paradise",
"Basket Case" & "When I Come Around." You definitely need this in your CD library,
regardless of whether you're a Green Day fan or not.
Lowkey Soundtrack to the Struggle
Spor Supernova
The Roots Do You Want More?!!!??!
Zeds Dead Victor
Zero 7 Simple Things
This is an incredibly classic downtempo album. Beautiful vocals, diverse synthesisers and varied beat makes each track stand out in different ways. You can really feel the passion and raw emotion bursting from every song. This definitely deserves a place on the shelf alongside albums like Portishead's Dummy & Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works 85?92.

3.5 great
Deftones Deftones
Deftones Adrenaline
Green Day Kerplunk
Their earliest stuff really is the purest form of punk. There was no generic, radio friendly, power pop, alternative crap. Just beautifully distorted guitar riffs with a strong focus on apathy. This is especially apparent in the song "Best Thing In Town." Everything about the way this album was produced just screams independent. With their new material they just sound overly manufactured.
OneRepublic Dreaming Out Loud
Rainy Milo Limey
There are moments where I get a Zero 7 vibe but with a hip-hop influence.
Seapony Falling
Spor Aztec / Do Not Shake
The History Of Apple Pie Out Of View
Zeds Dead Adrenaline
Zeds Dead The Living Dead

3.0 good
Rusko Songs
Quite a few of these tracks are pretty enjoyable and at least it looks as though Rusko has learnt the error of his ways and is trying to turn a leaf.
Sean Dowdell And His Friends? Demo Tape
Spiritfall My Reason

Linkin Park A Thousand Suns
I won't let this turn into a rant, nor will I let it cloud my judgement during this review
but let me start by saying, Linkin Park clearly jumped off the Nu Metal wagon because of its
decrease in popularity. Moving on... Oh where do I start. Amongst the unnecessary
pretentious interludes there is an interesting, lively Electronic Rock style which, if you
can accept their change, you will grow to like after plentiful listens. There are a few nice
songs like Robot Boy and Waiting For The End. Despite being a fan of their original sound I
cannot bring myself to appreciate Blackout because Chester's voice is getting weaker meaning
poorer executed screams mixed with a weirdly transitioned breakdown. From the album art to
the song titles, you can tell this is a concept album that strives to be ambiguous but ends
up sounding rather cheesy and somewhat tired.
Spor Ziggurat / Push Me, Pull You

2.0 poor
