Adjy The Idyll Opus (I-VI)
Akira Yamaoka Silent Hill 2
Ive been missing out on the best video game OST ever made for a while.
American Football American Football
Arcade Fire Funeral
Barrow Though I'm Alone
Arguably the greatest screamo album of the past decade.
Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Bruce Springsteen Born to Run
BRUIT The Machine Is Burning...
Aside from a rather dull track 3, Bruit's The Machine is burning is a massive tour de force of ambient and orchestral post-rock. A genre defining rebirth of Post-rock that blows most of its competitors completely out of the water. The ebb and flow of the beautiful interludes and build ups of the first two tracks, Industry and Renaissance are met with ridiculously high payoffs with cataclysmic crescendos that are almost unrivaled in sound. The fading in of drums to the wall of hazy static and drone is especially immaculate on Renaissance, where the barbaric pounding of drums is muted in comparison to the guitars. Seriously, this is a technological marvel that should be no overlooked.

Carissa's Wierd Songs About Leaving
Carissa's Wierd Ugly But Honest: 1996-1999
Converge Jane Doe
Counting Crows August And Everything After
That album your parent's played in long car rides that you hated. Yet, as you begin to age you revisit that album, and begin to realize how beautiful it is. August and Everything after is one of the most sincere and lyrically incredible albums of the 90's, and one of my favorite albums of all time.
Cursive The Ugly Organ
Dalek From Filthy Tongue Of Gods And Griots
Dark Time Sunshine ANX
Daughters You Won't Get What You Want

El-P Fantastic Damage
Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) What It Takes to Move Forward
Envy The Fallen Crimson
I refuse to believe a song like Rhythm actually exists under Envy?s name. Quite possibly one
of the most gorgeous post-rock songs I?ve heard in years.
Edit: Yeah lets see how long this 5 last, them redoing the two stellar EP tracks and
outdoing them is something else.
Frail Body Artificial Bouquet
Frightened Rabbit The Midnight Organ Fight
As relatable as it could be, The Midnight Organ Fight is a perfect example of music for the heartbroken without being sappy and dry.
Friko Where We've Been, Where We Go from Here
Gang of Youths Go Farther in Lightness
As if there weren't enough albums running for AOTY

Edit: Yea this is my AOTY

King Crimson In the Court of the Crimson King
Masakatsu Takagi Kagayaki
maudlin of the Well Bath
Probably one of the most unpredictable, beautiful, disturbing, relentless albums I've ever heard. Literally I had no
idea what the hell would happen next. The first song is a beautiful progressive, the second song is a metal
monstrosity, the third song is a mix of both; it changes it's colors like a chameleon.
Megadeth Rust in Peace
Mew Frengers
Miles Davis Kind of Blue
Moving Mountains Pneuma
Aphelion literally shoots you in the face. Right when you don't expect it. Seriously.

Rolo Tomassi Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It

Animal Collective Feels
Banshee Beat may perhaps become one of my favorite songs in time. With lyrics so brilliant and moving, Feels is
without a doubt one of the few Animal Collective albums I recommend to anyone. It's weird and kinda messy, but
there aren't many albums quite like it. It recalls childhood memories that at one point seemed lost, and it's high
relatability make it seem so real and beautiful.
Aphex Twin Selected Ambient Works 85-92

clipping. There Existed an Addiction to Blood
Huge 180 from this group in terms of quality, simply amazing noise/hip-hop that is both sinister and enthralling. About time the production matched Daveed's incredible lyricism.

Yndi Halda Under Summer
Coming off of perhaps my favorite post-rock album of all time, Yndi Halda follow up their masterpiece of a debut with something completely different. It is an album that may take patience at some points, but the band is armed with a grand assortment of instrumentation that aid in the uplifting crescendos. This Very Flight could honestly be one of the best songs they've ever done.
Yo La Tengo I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One
Young Jesus Young Jesus
Pretty much if you mixed Frightened Rabbit with post-rock and a dash of math rock. Devastatingly beautiful record and one of this year?s most underrated treasures. Check this out ASAP. River and the last 3 tracks alone make this worth it in every single way.
Young Jesus The Whole Thing Is Just There
Yves Tumor Safe in the Hands of Love

Didn't even realize that I haven't rated this. A really underrated gem from a duo that deserve a lot more attention. Songs such as Beauty in the Breakdown and We've got the Rain on Our Side are beautiful both lyrically and musically. Worth checking out for fans of Indie/lo-fi and acoustic fans.

Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) You Will Eventually Be Forgotten
An album of moments. Songs on the album rely on beautiful guitar work and crushing drums. Keith's vocal delivery is just as it was on Moving Forward, yet it seems that in spots his voice sounds rather annoying. Even the brilliant and surreal lyrical content is replaced by personal stories. But the good outweighs the negatives by a significant margin. Many songs have instances of a solid foundation, that is built up by reflecting guitars and soaring horns. Even the guest vocals on this supply moments that are unmatched. I'm so fucking happy to hear another full length from this band once again.
