This is pretty awesome. Sure he uses a lot of reverb, but I think Blaze is quite aware of that. It gives the music a spacious/ethereal/distant feel, so I wouldn't call it cheap when it's accomplishing what it's used for.
The lack of compression on this album could also be throwing some people off... as most Metal is compressed to hell.
