Review Summary: Back to the roots, in its right form.
Punk Rock could of never been reborn, it was long gone but never forgotten. Punk developed more into different styles like hardcore, screamo, metal-core, etc. The Casualties developed a street punk rawness, to their influence. For The Punx is a very fast paced album, it's hard hitting at times and instrumentally solid. Each song is driven with technique, aptitude and just straight power, that street punk had too put a name for itself. For The Punx is a neat record, it seemed way too passed it's time, it still had an attachment that still can pursue a 90's vibe.
The Casualties showed a statement, the way to resurrect an approachable passion, that is very close to people's hearts and souls, that they were born to achieve. For The Punx, can be your stereotypical punk album with it's angst against the government, police brutality and just being edgy without judgment. For The Punx is not a complete album, cause even though it has the right sound, energy and depth, it stills lacks in certain areas, the vocals can be somewhat irritable, ''but i do enjoy from time to time'' and they make themselves to anti forceful. Thankfully, i came for positivity, each song has a perception to valuable musicianship and entertaining energy, that every member can pull through in the right ways.
For The Punx shows greatness on each track, even though it's not made for everybody, fans of this genre.. will appreciate their appropriate effort, that caused an astonishing/creative satisfaction of respect, to a beloved culture. For The Punx is more of a guitar driven album, it stills carries more and more appreciable sensibility with the other instruments, the guitar playing by Jake Kolatis, has a solid efficiency and practical toughness for his talent. Marc 'Meggers''Eggers, plays the drums with such attitude, he makes more of stable versatility and justifying every pound he beats on. Rick Lopez's bass style seems to dirty too me, but bass is a very strong skill in punk, cause it's so fast placed, it's perfect rhythm for grooves and slaps. Jorge Herrera's vocals as i said before, is either a person's view point, The vocals do function and it's pleasantly mature for an album that seemed to be out of it's time.
All 'n' all.. For The Punx is one amusing record, it may not appeal to anyone that doesn't love punk, it will make you feel that it's still around and more influences are coming to make our future full of pleasure and lively, to a human being. The Causalities did a great job, pursuing their goals into something big, that shouldn't be overlooked.
