People are right, Heartbound sets itself on a higher standard than most bands in
post-hardcore/metalcore. Dream On, Dreamer as a band has already qualified themselves as a
band worth noticing, their previous Hope EP was stunning in terms of the genre, but
something has changed a bit coming into the full length. Songs like 'Downfall', 'Taking
Chances, Breaking Free' and 'Come Home True Love' are awesome songs, though they feature all
the breakdown riffage and predictable sing/scream formula, they offer up enough to make them
some of the better songs from the band. The rest though is forgettable, a few catchy sung
choruses showing up every little while and some pretty little interesting musical sections,
but everything else just feels bland. A little more work on each song and not as much filler
could work here, but average is the way it goes.
