  • ReAnimator hey sorry, literally just saw your message about Nightmarer - I listened to the OG mix of Deformity Adrift before the rework and thought/still think it's excellent, truly modern DM, but it's very cool to hear it in the context of a spacious OSDM mix/production style; I think it really illuminates the continuity between the spirit of what we think of as OSDM and modern DM

  • AlexTM510 Since views his albums have been overstuffed and him just churning out the same thing over and over, and it works because he racks up the streams and makes more $$$. I also happen to like ambient minimal drone stuff so that?s also why I like it, I almost see drakes voice like a instrument on the album (though the auto tune and mixing is a bit awkward at times). All in all, enough to be intrigued by it, probably will listen a few times this summer and then never return to it

  • AlexTM510 Sorry for the delayed reply, yea I can see everything you?re saying. I don?t think I was trying to come off defensive, rather providing a different outlook because I had a different experience with the album. It is a very flawed album still, and like you said it is monotonous in a way. But I also feel like that?s kind of the point. Although I think it?s his best work since nothing was the same I am fully aware that I am sitting in the minority court with this one.
