Does your image reflect the music you listen to?

While Id say I have fairly obscure taste in music (As many of us here do) compared to your average Joe, the way I look and dress does not reflect this at all - short hair, singlets/tshirts (often band related though), shorts, to be honest I look more like a gym rat than a metalhead if anything (not that thats anything to be proud of). At almost every less mainstream metal show I attend I get told by some muppet wearing an opeth shrirt, cargo shorts, DC's, hair down to his ass, tattos etc how 'you don't look like the type of guy who listens to metal' lettalon when they realize I'm familiar with a wider range of bands and genres than they are. I just feel like for a community which often gives shit to other musicians for caring too much about their image, metal seems to have a pretty strict dress code. To me this just scream insecurity and having to belong to a particular group and allign yourself with their image and ideals to feel accepted. Anyway my questions to you are does the way you present yourselves reflect your music taste? Could someone look at you and pretty well guess what type of music your into? Do you cringe at the metalhead archetype? Do I need to get off this site and find a job? (+ 10 albums ive been listening to the last few days)

Crucify me but I've recently gotten into this album again and I can't stop listening to it (only to find to find they bloody passed through my city just 2 weeks ago. I've heard they put on a killer live performance too. Maybe ill catch them next time they come through in late 2022)
