ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | I've been watching The Office with my girlfriend. I don't hate it. sup. |
Muisc4Life26
07.12.16 | Dwight is 1 |
hal1ax
07.12.16 | hmm. early seasons, dwight is my favorite - later seasons, prob stanley/darryl.
and i think michael has moments where he is easily the funniest but ya most of the time he is irritating |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Oh man we're watching the episode when Dwight wrecks Jim with snowballs during the Christmas party. It's awesome. |
hal1ax
07.12.16 | erin is definitely last for me. fucking hate her |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Michael has moments of awesomeness but his general awfulness is so pervasive that it overcomes any good feelings I might have |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | I like Erin but I can totally see why people would hate her |
hal1ax
07.12.16 | ya i get u. but like his fucking catastrophic impersonations like prison mike/clump are the best |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Hey he just poured coffee on Holly's toy Woody. He should die. |
SandwichBubble
07.12.16 | Office UK > Office US
(3 is 1) |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | I just don't dig that suuuuuuuuuuuuuper awkward humor that Andy and Michael bring to the table. And Gabe just sucks. He's not even that awkward. Just shitty. |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | "Office UK > Office US"
I addressed this in the list description |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | His semi-friendship with Darryl can be pretty amusing. It's just that his attempts to woo women are traumatizing.
Yeah it is nice how everyone treats Gabe like shit. He really is worthless. He's not even THAT tall. |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | No, fuck you, you little bitch |
hal1ax
07.12.16 | just rewatched the one where dwight creates a faux fire scenario to test everyone in the office. best intro to an ep |
minty901
07.12.16 | people who think the office uk is bad or ricky gervais is bad dont understand how important it is for influencing so much comedy in the 21st century. if you judge the office uk today maybe it seems like just another comedy, but in the context of its time, its absolutely genius and innovative. you can see pieces of david brent in so many comedies and in every day conversations between people of an entire generation. gervaiss influence is very underestimated. |
minty901
07.12.16 | to put it simply, nothing like the us office would ever exist without ricky gervais and his invention, nor would 80% of the comedies you see today. he is one of the most influencial and important comedians of all time, for better or worse, and its all because of the office. GAH you kids dont appreciate where you came from! |
Drifter
07.12.16 | I fucking hate Erin. |
minty901
07.12.16 | How does he suck if he was innovative enough to invent a new style of comedy that has been loved and imitated all over the world for almost two decades now? |
minty901
07.12.16 | Meh, whatever, I don't want to get drawn into a dumb argument over it. David Brent is quite obiously one of the best, most important comedy characters ever created. He changed the face of comedy. Fucking revolutionary. A world without Ricky Gervais would be very, very different. Almost every hit comedy film or tv show lifts core elements of comedy that Ricky Gervais basically invented.
I don't listen to the Beatles, but I wouldn't be so naive to say that they sucked. |
minty901
07.12.16 | trollololololol |
minty901
07.12.16 | It brings up the argument of whether something should be judged based on the context of the time it was released, or whether it should be judged based on today's standards. This is especially interesting for forms of entertainment that occurred on the brink of advancements in human rights or awareness for minorities, as well as the fact of something being less unique over time as more imitators are released. Gone Home was a masterpiece, but in 50 years time will people look back on it and think "pfff, this sucks"? Maybe. It can be looked at either way. In terms of judging whether or not you like something, then judge it by today's standard, fine. But in terms of assigning credit or acclaim to something... I think it should be judged based on the context of its time. Gravity is so fucking obvious to everyone, but that doesn't mean Isaac Newton was stupid, does it? |
minty901
07.12.16 | Alright fine I cba to argue this point. You've chosen the one perspective that you want to view things from and that's fine. I was just thinking of other possible perspectives for the purpose of discussion. |
brandontaylor
07.12.16 | andy and erin belong at the bottom of this list. |
minty901
07.12.16 | "Because I don't like Ricky Gervais or the Beatles how hard is that to get through your thick fucking skull you moron"
Ooooo you're fun. Sorry I mistook you for somebody who might want to discuss topics at an educational level beyond kindergarten. My mistake. Fucking silly fart idiot! Oooo it IS fun being petty and childish! |
tectactoe
07.12.16 | how come David Wallace isn't on this list? he is one of the most chill cfo's of all-time. |
Spacesh1p
07.12.16 | 18 is 1, Steve Carrell was born to play Michael Scott and it's a privilege we were all alive to witness it. |
Spacesh1p
07.12.16 | Everything you say about Michael is what makes him so awesome. |
Spacesh1p
07.12.16 | Wait scratch that Snox is 100% right here, you're just missing the point because everything you hate about these characters is what makes them so funny. |
bloc
07.12.16 | Over the years I've started to really not like this show anymore. I do still think the first, say, 4 seasons are gold. But afterwards, the quality really starts to dip. Last few seasons just make me cringe for the most part. |
DoctorDoom
07.12.16 | Gabe is totally under rated. He's like a sputnikmusic user in real life. |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | Darryl is a solid number one but Creed has to be like top 3. He's underutilized maybe but that just makes him that much better. He's the such a useless just sort of there employee it fits. Plus that makes his parts that much more worthwhile. He is also pretty much playing himself on the show (his real name is Creed, he was in a band etc) |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | I'm not missing the point, it's just that everything that is supposed to be funny about him gets under my skin completely. Steve Carrell is an outstanding actor for that reason. |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Yeah but Creed is TOO underutilized. Even when he has small parts he's hysterical but he probably has less screen time than even the recurring cast. |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | meh, makes me like it even more. it's like how some of my favorite characters on the simpsons or futurama are far from regular characters |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | I feel the opposite about Futurama. There are a shitload of 'recurring' characters that are practically regulars. Zap, Kif and Nixon are in almost every episode. |
LewisShaw
07.12.16 | 'Creed could have been such a great character. Alas, he is far too underutilized to make an impact.'
I'd argue that his shorter screen time makes his scenes even better |
LewisShaw
07.12.16 | Also the dude that plays Gabe (Zach Woods) is fucking hilarious, should see this outtake from season 8 with him Dwight and Jim in the kitchen |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | there's definitely less "extra" characters in futurama than the simpsons |
tempest--
07.12.16 | bad ranking imo |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | " I'd argue that his shorter screen time makes his scenes even better"
m/ |
beefshoes
07.12.16 | The U.S. version is shite tbh.
|
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | the first season was shit the later seasons were bad but for quite awhile it was def better than the uk version, one of the better shows ever |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Holy shit that blooper WAS funny. "They're just like boobs for your arms" |
CapnJizz
07.12.16 | Oh wow. This is bad |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Yeah I would not miss Andy and Kelly. |
beefshoes
07.12.16 | Seriously. The original was 100x more awkward, the characters and dialoug were much more believable, and even though Gervais was absolutely cringe-worthy, you're forced to empathise with him and truly feel awful when he gets fucked over (particularly in the last few episodes and Christmas special). The Office seriously comes off as a dumbed down version of the original, and it falls into way too many cliches. |
Conmaniac
07.12.16 | bad ranking yeah like aren't you not supposed to like Michael? he's def the funniest character though and it shows when he leaves the show |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | nah it 100% becomes its own thing dude
if you think carell is boring sry bro i think youre boring lul |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | "bad ranking yeah like aren't you not supposed to like Michael? he's def the funniest character though and it shows when he leaves the show"
yeah after thinking about it, it is true, michael is fucking hilarious and absolutely the star and center of the show |
Sowing
07.12.16 | Great show, but there's no way Michael is the worst character. Show went to shit when Steve Carrell left. |
AnimalsAsSummit
07.12.16 | creed is 1 |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | wow i didnt even notice he ranked michael last lmao |
Conmaniac
07.12.16 | like you hate him and you cringe at him so much but his sincere stupidity and knack for offending people all the time is what makes the show so funny. everyone has their own bit (Dwight being crazy dorky, Jim torturing Dwight, Pam playing along...ect.) but the shit Michael gets into usually ends up being the most important/funniest/most entertaining |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Nah Michael sucks. |
Conmaniac
07.12.16 | you convinced me |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | why would you watch a show where you have a irrational hate for the centerpiece and main character of the show lmao |
Conmaniac
07.12.16 | ^^^ |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Because my girlfriend likes it and she wants to watch it. |
Sowing
07.12.16 | I watched on my own accord and to this day it still remains one of my all time favorite sitcoms. But my ranking would have Michael, Jim, Pam, Darryl and Creed all in my top 5, shortly followed by Kevin. But this ranking is still solid, it's just good to know that people still like this show.
|
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | I used to like Jim but he has kinda turned into a little shit. Dwight's snowball revenge is brilliant. "The greatest snowball ever isn't snow. It's fear" |
Sowing
07.12.16 | Which is just to say you don't have to hide behind the "I watch it because my GF watches it and she forces me to" thing. I mean, that (besides Lucy Hale's insane hotness) is the only reason I ever watched Pretty Little Liars. But this show stands on its own, never embarrassed to admit I enjoy it. |
Sowing
07.12.16 | Yeah I agree that Jim went downhill - in fact both him and Pam got something of an annoying superiority complex going in the late seasons - but as a whole he is still way better than Erin/Ryan/Angela. |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | I'm not. We watch it together because it's a low key thing to do after work. I never much cared for it until recently (because I hate Michael). So I just try to find enjoyment in the little characters and things that happen. |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | yeah kevins p dope too |
LewisShaw
07.12.16 | I think they made Jim too cocky in the later seasons, like he became aware that he was so normal compared to his coworkers and they overdid it a little at some points |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | the only way you could hate michael is if you take him seriously
dumbest shit ive ever heard |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Yeah Jim is like a mixture of arrogant and self conscious. Lot of insecurity going on there. |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | I've been told by a number of people that I hate fun and that I don't like anything, so it seems reasonable to me that I wouldn't enjoy something that everyone else enjoys.
I am surprised though, I thought more people would dislike Michael. I guess it's really just me. |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | their self awareness of their normalcy amongst a bunch of tards was fun and funny before they got married and shit and still had some lowered self esteem and knew that regardless of their "normalcy" they weren't any different than the people they worked with. not sure what season they end up getting married but last time i watched this show i stopped watching it there. |
LewisShaw
07.12.16 | In the first 2 seasons Michael was rude and a lot of the viewers didn't like him so they changed him from season 3 onwards. Don't see how you can't find him likeable from that point, he goes over the line a few times but he's too innocent and unaware to know what he's doing most of the time |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | I think that way because I have no sense of humor |
Sowing
07.12.16 | "he goes over the line a few times but he's too innocent and unaware to know what he's doing most of the time"
This |
Conmaniac
07.12.16 | attempting to like tv show characters as actual people is a lot like taking every joke literally |
LewisShaw
07.12.16 | What OvDeath said, Michael has some of the best lines in the whole show, Steve Carell was so perfect for the part it's unreal |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Well yeah I can't argue with that, Steve Carrell is solid gold. He was destined for that role. |
guitarded_chuck
07.12.16 | "the point of most shows isn't supposed to make you like the characters as actual people, i don't know why so many people think that way"
ikr, like i said the only way you could find michael annoying is if you think carell is being serious
michael as interpreted by the characters in the show is annoying, michael as a character from the audiences POV is carell making fun of useless socially inept people who somehow end up in authority |
Sowing
07.12.16 | You could find him annoying anyway if you don't like uncomfortable humor without taking him too serious, but to me the more awkward the show was the better |
DeadGuy
07.12.16 | He had no arms or legs, he couldn't see, hear or speak. This is how he led a nation |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | On a side note: does anyone else find Angela to be outrageously hot? |
Sowing
07.12.16 | "does anyone else find Angela to be outrageously hot?"
No, because I've always had my eyes on Pam and because she is plain af (in the show at least) |
Yotimi
07.12.16 | is this a joke? Michael is obviously the best character. |
SCREAM!
07.12.16 | Eh pretty much every other girl Jim dated throughout the course of the show was more attractive tbh imo |
SCREAM!
07.12.16 | Also Michael is easily top 3 characters (top 5 at most) |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Idk man, when she puts on that tight little outfit to seduce Dwight at the play it sure worked on me. Also, she rocks a conservative pencil skirt. My GF is 5'7" and weighs 109 pounds. I love petite girls. It's a strong subconscious thing. |
Avagantamos
07.12.16 | creed is my favorite. way underutilized |
hal1ax
07.12.16 | Jan is hot |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Piper is pretty lame as a main character though. She is far outshone by the ensemble cast. There are so many characters to love. The black girls squad is unbeatable. |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Jan is not hot |
hal1ax
07.12.16 | Fuck u |
SCREAM!
07.12.16 | "Jim dated two other girls, neither of which were attractive."
Don't really remember much of the cheerleader one tbh (although I'm pretty sure she was more attractive than Pam) and Karen beats her easily imo |
tempest--
07.12.16 | amy adams was who jim was dating when they went on that cruise she was pretty :ok hand: |
Clumseee
07.12.16 | This ranking is awful. |
tempest--
07.12.16 | odd i think she can be incredibly attractive |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Amy Adams is just okay. I think what makes Pam attractive is how nice she is. |
bloc
07.12.16 | AA is hot as hell man what |
SCREAM!
07.12.16 | Pam is obviously the most nice/fun out of the bunch by a fair margin and is the most attractive if we take in her character as a whole.
If we were just looking as attractive as being looks though, then Karen takes it imo |
hal1ax
07.12.16 | Ya Karen imo. Hate her character tho |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | Can't agree with you, I would put Angela on my back and carry her to faraway lands |
bloc
07.12.16 | On a side note, my fav scene in the entire series is the first aid training. |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | That 'Stayin Alive' improv is just TOO good |
Conmaniac
07.12.16 | YAAAAANkee swap! |

07.12.16 | Yesss first aid / Stanley having a heart attack / fake fire scenario is my fav ep |

07.12.16 | his Chris Rock impression is amazing |

07.12.16 | like how you put random band and album names lol
btw seeing as though you rated michael the worst completely makes this list void |
torts
07.12.16 | show is an atrocity |
FullOfSounds
07.12.16 | Never really got into The Office, but Dwight for life |
nylertickel2
07.12.16 | Having Meredith above Kelly Kapoor, The Business Bitchâ„¢ is a crime against humanity. |
PunchedPeach72
07.12.16 | This is offensively bad |
ZippaThaRippa
07.12.16 | I am pleased you are offended |
PunchedPeach72
07.12.16 | I hope Michael Scarn blows your house up |
Typhoon24
07.12.16 | amy adams is hot as hell. eff pam's annoying ass
Darryl might be the coolest character, but toby or Dwight are the best. |
chipperjones
07.12.16 | Love it, binge watched it all on Netflix a little while back haha...I love most of the characters to be honest, they all had their place in the show. |
Gyromania
07.12.16 | this list is such a troll lol. darryl is so w/e. a totally lethargic and excessively sarcastic person like 80% of the time.
dwight = michael > everyone else. i mean come on, the dumbest characters are the funniest, that's kind of the whole fucking point to the office lol. it's cringe-humour |
wham49
07.12.16 | dude Micheal and dwigt made the show, without them it sucks as you saw |
p4p
07.12.16 | gay witch hunt is one of my favorite episode. Also the merger when michael said "let me show you where the slaves works" lmao |
bloodshy
10.16.20 | kelly is the only one i didn't like and then she got her own annoying tv show |
