GreyShadow: Question: Why can't us normies rate things 3.8?

GreyShadow 09.23.17	currently my 3 LPs of 2017. Mew, AFI, and Eidola trail slightly behind.
Aerisavion 09.23.17	My guess would be that the restricted ratings system at least keeps 90% of the ratings neatly organised and prevents things looking too messy. That being said, I completely agree. Multiple albums have been more than a 4 for me but nowhere near a 4.5, so you're kinda forced to settle with one or the other. Perhaps when posting a review you should be allowed to specify the rating more accurately? After all, if you're taking the time to review something, at least allow the review to correspond with an accurate rating.

Sowing 09.23.17	Honestly it's not as much to be envious of as you might think...ever since changing to 0.1 increments I've been indecisive, tweaking everything constantly in search for "the exact right rating" when no such thing exists. 0.5 increments forced me to make a definitive decision, and it was easier to be objective because I associated my scores more strongly with whether or not something was actually 'good' or 'great' or 'excellent'; now I can bend any score by 2/100, so I rate /100 now and that freedom has made me way more generous for whatever reason. tl;dr it's not all it's cracked up to be.
