game should be good, loved both originals and pre-sequel was alright |

04.04.19 | Im sure this game is gonna be great - its a tried and true formula, and it doesnt look like they are radically changing it from the first two games. More Borderlands is always a good thing in my eyes. Im also curious to see if Anthony Burch returns as a writer. I know some people didnt like his meme-centric writing style from 2, but i found it to be a breath of fresh air from the usual serious writing in most games of the time.

04.04.19 | But on the real, game sounds exciting. They got the bl1 writer back. The're is instanced loot, level scaling so you can join whenever and play with friends, and walking guns. Whaaaa |

It'd be more tolerable if the Epic launcher had anywhere near a viable amount of functionality. But it's currently lacking so many basic features it looks like it should still be in beta or alpha instead of actually being out here taking people's money. |

04.04.19 | The story in BL1 was terrible tho |

04.04.19 | They also took in two telltale writers I heard too. Tales had an amazing story |

04.04.19 | I've been playing since Borderlands dropped in 2009. Loved the series ever since. Such a fun, bizarre, lively world with equally eccentric characters.
This first game had such a desolate setting, very relaxing in a way. While the second game just went straight up nuts (in a good way)
LETS FUCKING GO BOYS!!! |

04.04.19 | Steam needs competition so it's forced to improve its services.
Also I dunno if I cba with another Borderlands. Spent a lot of time in 1 and P-S. But I just don't have that kinda time anymore, plus the games are all basically identical. |
Demon of the Fall
04.04.19 | if I'm willing to veer more towards the shooter side of the action shooter/RPG spectrum would a Fallout fanboy get a kick out of these games? Never played them. Loot is good, levelling up is good, immersive game world is essential. Not interested in the online element though. |
Davil667
04.04.19 | Pretty stoked, the trailer looked sweet.
BL1 is one of my most beloved games ever and it had a totally different feeling to it than BL2, which was also still pretty great. BL1 being available in a PS4 version since yesterday is fantastic, will keep me busy for the next weeks :] |
PyramidNoise
04.04.19 | "If I'm willing to veer more towards the shooter side of the action shooter/RPG spectrum would a Fallout fanboy get a kick out of these games?"
Depends on which version of Fallout you're talking. It's nothing like 1 or 2 and comparisons to 3, NV and 4 are pretty surface. Borderlands is more like a Diablo loot 'em up in first person than it is an actual RPG. |
Davil667
04.04.19 | "Not interested in the online element though."
Nothing better than to experience a little carnage action in coop with three buddies :] |
Demon of the Fall
04.04.19 | yeah well I'm not expecting an in-depth RPG, just a few elements maybe. Fallout 4 isn't THAT much of an RPG anyway (joke, I think).
Main point is exploration. I don't want to kill enemies endlessly without any reason to explore beyond that, assuming there is actually substantial content outside the obvious paths and a few sparsely populated areas. |
Morningrise767
04.04.19 | Give the first game a chance. It can take a bit of time to get engrossed. But I've loved it's desolate setting. You mostly shoot n loot with a splash of RPG (you level up and designate points into 3 skill trees) The games have main plotlines with a bunch of side quests. The game doesn't take itself super seriously. But boy, its hella fun and the music super chill as well :) |
PyramidNoise
04.04.19 | Game is better Co-Op tbh. There is a plot, it's always pretty basic. Side quests are similar, I'd say they're a tier under Fallout 3/NV in terms of content beyond the action of playing. |
Demon of the Fall
04.04.19 | This all sounds fine to me tbh, it's hard to judge whether I'll get engrossed in something as I seem to attach myself to certain games/franchises without any obvious logic. I'm weird like that.
Thanks guys. |
PyramidNoise
04.04.19 | The best thing, and it always has been, are the randomised weapon drops. They take the same attitude to gun stats as Diablo does to sword stats. Just even more all over the place. |
Morningrise767
04.04.19 | ^ Yeah, the looting is super fun. Always exciting when you get a rare weapon. ^_^ |
Davil667
04.04.19 | Yeah checking out all the different weapons and their effectiveness is big part of the fun. On some occasions I stuck to a weapon for several levels as it still had more impact than a higher level one. |
Demon of the Fall
04.04.19 | That does sound cool, I'm intrigued. I actually still own my Xbox 360 so could just play the original and save myself a few quid, not sure if it's worth getting this new remake. I'll look into it. |
NOTINTHEFACE
04.04.19 | Demon like others have been saying the ARPG elements are very different from a game like Fallout but I spent over 400 hours in BL2 trying out different builds and replaying the main story. One of my favorite things about the game was the immersive and diverse level design, which sort of feels like a blend between classic corridor shooters and modern open world. It's insanely fun and addicting, and I can't recommend it enough. I may be in the minority here, but I highly recommend picking up Borderlands 2 as your entry point. It's one of my favorite games of all time. |
Morningrise767
04.04.19 | Borderlands 2 is definitely more refined, and looks better. But you can't beat the charm of the first game. There's just something about it ... :) |
PyramidNoise
04.04.19 | Nothing will compare to the amount of time I sunk into the first one. I feel like it's the sort of game where you kind of only need to play one of them. I'd probably recommend the second one if you were just gonna choose one to play.

Davil667
04.04.19 | ^
Couldn't agree more, BL1 has that certain feeling to it and being able to play it again after so many years makes me really happy. Can't wait to get home today. |
Davil667
04.04.19 | But part 2 was also immensely enjoyable and the Coop mode worked so much better... |

04.04.19 | Pre-sequel was pretty lame though... Didn't even finish it. |
PyramidNoise
04.04.19 | I only finished P-S because I was playing 4 person Co-Op. |
samwise2000
04.04.19 | I never actually played pre-sequel... Just looked like an uninspired mod for 2. But 2 is easily one of my top 10 favorite games, no question |
Valkoor952
04.04.19 | Pre-sequel was very meh.
I'm hoping for some fun characters, this and the art design has always been the biggest draw for me. |
ExhaleTheLight
04.04.19 | Skeptical. Gearbox has been on a downward spiral after Borderlands 2 released. There's also rumors of microtransactions in the game. |
TheCharmingMan
04.04.19 | I dug early Borderlands content but idk as time went on the charm became more and more grating on me. I'm still excited for 3 but things aren't looking too good imo |

04.04.19 | It makes me want to play more of 2. But no interest in a new one tbh. |

04.04.19 | I put in hours of Borderlands 1 with some friends when it came out, loved that shit to death. Skipped playing 2, but super hyped for 3 after all the god-awful looter-shooters lately. Probably not going to have co-op partners most of the time...hope its still as good without buddies |
Kalopsia
04.04.19 | yeah.. i'm waiting to hear how it'll play solo.
i could find some peeps to do coop if needed, but not gonna be my first choice |
hexfix93
04.04.19 | I still play Borderlands 2. Game has so much replay value. I have the PS but haven't played it, but I'm definitely hyped for 3. Even though I'll probably keep playing 2 even after it comes out. |
samwise2000
04.05.19 | 3 Looks really promising, and I dont think they are gonna 'Ubisoft' us and release a game that looks worse than the trailers. Honestly, i have no doubt this game will be better than 2 on the basis of it loot and gameplay. As for story, i cant really say, but even without Anthony Burch (doesnt seem like hes returning, correct me if im wrong) the game still has some great writing staff on board. The villains being cult leaders is a cool idea that i hope they dont bog down with cliches. |
teamster
04.05.19 | I haven’t looked at BL2 in my Steam library lately but I am pretty sure I have almost 1,500 hours in that game. Needless to say it’s my second favorite game of all time. I know more things about that game than most. Pre-ordered on Epic done. |
samwise2000
04.05.19 | @teamster might I ask what your number one favourite game is? |
ConcubinaryCode
04.05.19 | I bought the remaster of 1 and oof, 2 just blows it out of the water in pretty much every aspect. I still like the idea of weapon proficiency though |
Kalopsia
04.05.19 | i was considering getting the remaster of 1... but had that same reservation: is it just going to make me wish i was playing 2 instead? (not that 1 is a bad game, to be clear) |

05.03.19 | They added so many small, yet important features which will drastically change the way this game works. And its all for the better. Mainly the level balancing on co-op and the player specific loot. |

09.19.19 | Game is pretty good, feel like its getting a lot of bad press because of the Randy Pitchford controversy. Really liking the improvements made to character mobility, and the enhanced customization options. Ive seen a lot of criticism against the writing, with people saying its not that funny, but in all honesty was Borderlands ever hilarious? All this 'its not funny' ive been hearing in reviews seems strange since I feel like Borderlands has always been like this... |
zaruyache
09.19.19 | The landscape's changed since then tho and many of us who thought it was funny back then aren't really into it now. |
