I really don't want djokovic to have the grand slam record but it feels like an inevitability at this point. Yeah this match is so wild. He defs got out played in the first three quarters of the third, but then he let Alcaraz have the set to regain strength. I figured he’d come back though it’s what he does, one of the best players under pressure |

Yeah, I’m doubling down on no-one can stop Alcaraz moving forward, yes players develop at different rates but to be THIS good at 20 (and he’s barely played on grass) is impressive. The others are miles behind. The fact is that most of the top guys are seriously good by 20-21 and Alcaraz is already way ahead of the pack.
I mean the easiest example is that Medvedev was seeded third and he was demolished in the semi, it wasn’t even a contest. These two are easily the best out there and once Djokovic retires, it might be one way traffic.
Players emerge often, so let’s see if a hidden gem can challenge at some point. |

As a kid I remember hating Novak for his composure and on court freak outs, but when I started following the sport again right after he had time off for surgery I noticed his mentality had shifted a lot, and I’ve been a fan ever since.
Carlos will be the next legend no doubt, and yeah none of the players I mentioned in that list above match him right now, but it’s not very often we can have an era like we did with Rafa/Roger/Novak/(Murray) coming up at the same time |

yeah, I also DO remember this and he definitely improved as time went on / became a bit more likeable once he matured - but he was still always a distant 3rd in likeability vs the other greats. It's not some 'conspiracy' |
