Dude has worked on some great albums as the Producer, as well as the Mixer or Engineer. As a Mixer and Engineer, he has worked with Tool (10,000 Days, FI), Slipknot (WANYK), Soundgarden (King Animal), NIN (Hesitation Marks), Kyuss (Blues for the Red Sun, Welcome to Sky Valley, and ...And the Circus Leaves Town), Monster Magnet (Mindfucker and remix albums), and Melvins (Stoner Witch). Thoughts on which one is the best that he has produced? | 1 | | Queens of the Stone Age Queens of the Stone Age
Also "Lullabies to Paralyze" | 2 | | Tomahawk Mit Gas | 3 | | Coheed and Cambria Year of the Black Rainbow
A truly- underappreciated album | 4 | | Fair to Midland Arrows and Anchors
SAA | 5 | | Chevelle NIRATIAS
Also "Hats off to the Bull", "La Gargola", and "The North Corridor". La Gargola backed up by Faraudo. | 6 | | Avenged Sevenfold Life Is But a Dream...
Also "The Stage" | 7 | | Slipknot The End, So Far | 8 | | ISIS Wavering Radiant | 9 | | Parkway Drive Deep Blue

From DominionMM1 - I don't disagree this is landmark. But Joe mixed this; didn't produce it. That would be the legendary Chris Goss (Masters of Reality). | 11 | | The Butterfly Effect Imago

09.18.23 | I know his production aesthetics are oftentimes controversial, but I love his rumbling, organic sound. Parkway Drive’s Deep Blue is a real favourite of mine - it didn’t prove popular with a fanbase that was after a more polished, clean sound, but goddamn did that album sound like being front and centre in a late 00s Parkway mosh like Horizons and KWAS didn’t. | Pikazilla
09.18.23 | joe baressi ruined parkway drive for me
their first two albums were great but deep blue had some of the worst guitar sound I've heard | Butkuiss
09.18.23 | Spoken like someone who never threw down to Don’t Close Your Eyes in a sweaty Masonic Hall, RSL or PCYC in the mid 00s | DominionMM1
09.18.23 | sky valley ainec | Faraudo
09.18.23 | His work with Chevelle is pretty damn good as well, particularly in La Gargola | FrozenFirebug
09.18.23 | modern slapknut & la gargola sound good
life is but a dream is all over the place sonically with glaring flaws (mainly in nobody)
fear inoculum is both too quiet and too loud
rainier fog has a bit of a clunky harsh mix
hard to tell what this guy does when there aren't any trends between his contributions | JDubb
09.18.23 | "Life is but a Dream" has really grown on me. TBH, it was the impetus for this list. Think Joe truly isolated and enriched the avant-garde gene within A7X DNA. Similarly with the prog aspects on "The Stage". | bananatossing
09.19.23 | Wavering Radiant sounds great. I also love Imago from The Butterfly Effect. |
