06.20.24 | honestly fell out of gaming between like 2014-2022 [aside from some drunken fortnite/overwatch when those weren't run into the ground]. my brother gifted me a ps4 and i've been playing catchup on all the stuff i've missed, buuut i still haven't gotten back into any multiplayer stuff mostly just solo shit. buuut been on like a 2 year long survival horror kick, damn near played through every resident evil/evil within/buncha indies like signalis[probably gonna pick up crow county and looking forward to sh2 remake.] other than that been fuckin heavy with the og castlevanias/megaman, hack and slash stuff like GoW/dmc, and slowly getting back into jrpgs[most recently beat the ff7 remake, i've only played the original dozen/14 so probably going to play like 13 or 15 next. also gotta continue my persona 5 save/star ocean.]
buuut it's just a matter of time before i relapse back into counterstrike, i'd play more cod if the updates didn't make me reinstall the whole shit everytime i try to play. likewise need to brush off my sf4 muscle memory and dive into ranked sf6 |

RadioSuicide
06.20.24 | Siege is so good. Best shooter ever prob.
Slay the Spire has me by the balls again. Balatro was fun for the price, but there really is no comparison between the two |

06.20.24 | i like to play pretend and spin the bottle |

06.20.24 | I've been revisiting the Metal Gear Solid series recently. Hot take, but I actually prefer MGS2 to the first game these days |

06.20.24 | I’ve been playing starfield. Been on a Bethesda kick and I really love thier games. Starfield is a love/hate relationship |
twlight
06.20.24 | I started multiple playthroughs of Elden Ring on Xbox… and I’m in a predicament because I now have a ps5… so I’m thinking about buying Elden Ring complete edition in like 3 months when it goes on sale. I’m currently a bit burned out on from software games because I played ds3 and two runs on Sekiro, plus Elden Ring in the span of like one year. So I need a break. |

i finish work and i play balatro
i never win at balatro |
Demon of the Fall
06.20.24 | is that the deckbuilder?
it was on my list of six zillion games I was 'considering' but will never play
I'm playing Prodeus / Doom 64 at the minute. I'm really bad at starting anything genuinely new to me (Prodeus is essentially a Doom clone / tribute so it barely counts as 'new'). Pretty sure I've sunk 600 hours (minimum) into Fallout 4 because I cannot be arsed thinking |
Mort.
06.20.24 | yeah its a roguelite deckbuilder built around the classic 52 card deck and poker, really good with a lot of replay value
theres basically a bunch of different decks with different quirks (such as a 40 card deck with no face cards or a 52 card deck of only hearts and spades) and then each deck has multiple difficulty scalings you work your way through. you score points by playing poker hands (flush, straight, two pair etc) and pick up 'joker' cards that act as variables (say, adding extra points if you play a flush)
then theres like 20 challenges with their own very specific rules and decks.
overall id say its a 9/10 or 10/10, deffo worth it for the money cos its pretty cheap and the developer is committed to balancing and patching it for the forsseable future! |
Mort.
06.20.24 | lol i started playing prodeus a few months ago, really didnt think much of it. deffo just a doom clone and not a particularly imaginative one at that. like damn they couldnt have gone for a more unique aesthetic? |
Demon of the Fall
06.20.24 | lol, yeah even the enemy archetypes are clearly very much inspired by Doom
I'm enjoying it regardless, but it's certainly not reinventing the wheel. I was also disappointed to find I couldn't create anything on console. You can play the user created content though, so maybe people have made some interesting maps that'll freshen things up a little (haven't tried yet)
yeah, I knew it was based on Poker. Sounds cool. I should get it on Switch or something (assuming this is a thing, my hazy memory thinks it might be) |

06.20.24 | Been playing a lot of Overwatch recently. It pisses me off so I don’t know why. |

Love Titanfall 2, cycosynner.
I've been playing Apex Legends, Deep Rock Galactic, Ready or Not, Pseudoregalia and The Big Catch: Tacklebox these days.
I may plan to play Mass Effect Trilogy again someday. So's Resident Evil 5. |

06.20.24 | Been jamming Doom Eternal lately; I think I'm getting old because that game has so many different mechanics it makes my head spin. I never remember to use all of the tools to make huge damage combos and effectively crowd control.
Still waiting for CDPR to patch Cyberpunk again so that I can remap the dodge key to my mouse without crashing the game. Would love to do another runthrough of that one.
I have an all bosses run of Dark Souls 2 lurking behind my shoulder somewhere but every time I try to make progress I realize I don't actually like that stupid fucking game but I need to finish it so I can never play it again
Helldivers 2 is great fun as well, but the problem is finding time to actually sit down at the PC and play anything at all--let alone link up with friends. Having other responsibilities really cuts into the gaming time; I'll go weeks without even turning on my gaming rig because I can't be bothered after taking care of everything that needs to get done. |

06.20.24 | My backlog is huge.
Been playing Roll7's (RIP) 'Rollerdrome', which is a joy. Recently bought 'Chorus' and 'Samurai Shodown: Neo Geo Collection' (a sweet Digital Eclipse job).
I love gaming, but it's not remotely conducive to doing anything else during the day. Recently (as in the last couple of months) played through GTA5 again (my last proper gaming stint), and it really brings home how much these endeavours demand time to enjoy, and there are SO MANY now. |
Gameofmetal
06.20.24 | Playing Elden Ring ahead of the DLC. Baldur's Gate 3 has been in my backlog for a while, probably ought to knock it out next. Strong desire to replay Mass Effect looming though. |

06.20.24 | Obsessed with FF16 and Disco Elysium rn but I think the Elden Ring hype is too strong to ignore so I gotta do a new character and get that sweet DLC |

06.20.24 | Just returned to Division 2 after a year away from it. I've already got 500 hours in it but the gameplay loop is consistently fun. Seems to be some issues with how Massive is changing upcoming seasons with introducing seasonal characters a la Diablo, but for now I've had a blast just being a DPS machine. |
Slex
06.20.24 | Division 2 is honestly one of my all time fave games, it's just so rock solid and fun |
Christbait
06.20.24 | I played a bit of Div 1 but was very late to the party and couldn't find it in me to invest in builds. But I actually took the day off work when Division 2 first released. Crazy that Massive considered sunsetting the game a couple of years ago after Warlords of New York released. But I think with no Div 3 on the foreseeable horizon, they had to double back and find ways to revitalize the game to keep the playerbase intact. |
MTObsidian
06.20.24 | Ah shit, I had forgotten about Baldur's Gate 3... I have to do that one at some point too. Man, it never ends! |

06.20.24 | @bait Yeah especially after that Heartlands or whatever game was cancelled it's weird to see them focusing on 2 again lol |

06.20.24 | I suck so much ass at Diablo 2. I didn't grow up playing it so when it released on consoles, I thought it'd be like Diablo 3 and I could just steamroll late-game content with a middling build. Nope, Diablo 2 demands you put your hours in. Losing your gear on death, too, is a big middle finger to people playing with a D3 mentality. |

06.20.24 | typically nintendo and jrpg guy here

06.21.24 | Finished the Doom Eternal DLCs and Master Levels on Nightmare to refresh my memory on the state of NuDoom before the new NuDoom game comes out.
I used to spite it for not giving me the type of shooter experience I wanted, but it's very fun in its own right. A good game overall. I will say the mix of braindead AI pathing + infinite resource recovery generally trivializes the experience, even when every single demon combination is thrown at you.
Hope Dark Ages makes you act or die instead of run in circles until victory. Lots of keybinds and high actions per minute has its own learning curve, but there isn't much to learn after that. ZERO emphasis on consciously dodging anything besides some boss attacks. |

06.21.24 | I recently finished the Arkham games for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I thought after four whole games id be ready to move on, but im thinking of restartng City soon. Saving Origins for winter. Other than that, ive been playing Fable. Need to get back to Sea of Stars, Forbidden West, and Dark Souls Remastered. |

06.22.24 | Back on Bloodborne for the first time in a couple years, finally beat Laurence after all this time. Only boss I never beat on my first playthrough. Absolute masterpiece in every sense of the word. Probably the easiest FromSoft game too if you got the gun parrying down.
Boutta fire up Elden Ring today, really excited to see what the DLC has to offer. |

06.26.24 | @foxxxy I love megawads so I can keep playing the same thing for a while instead of just a level or two. Some of the classics (Scythe, Plutonia, etc.) are a lot of fun and pretty challenging with Brutal Doom due to the mutual damage increase. I haven't booted up any in a while so I can't name any others off the top of my head besides Foursite, but there are so many great wads out there to try.
Have you tried out Ashes 2063? It's basically an entire new game made using the GZDoom engine. It's honestly incredible and such a fun experience. Completely changes the game into a mix of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Fallout and Doom in that old Doom II style. I would highly recommend it. |
